Top Five Best Mobile Crypto Wallet

Most crypto investors and enthusiasts still keep their funds on exchange wallets. However, crypto exchanges do not have the greatest track record when it comes to keeping your digital assets. Since 2011, over USD 1.65 billion worth of crypto assets have been stolen, and the figures keep getting bigger every year.

Over 650,000 Bitcoin were lost on the Mt. Gox hacking that lasted more than two years without the founders knowing it. Aside from hacking, the trouble may arise within the exchange. The QuadrigaCX controversy, whose owner passed away with all the private keys, led to more than USD 190 million of users assets being inaccessible.

Renowned crypto analyst and security entrepreneur, Andreas Antonopoulos said, β€˜Your keys, your Bitcoin. Not your keys, not your Bitcoin.” This is true and this is the very reason why it is important for everyone to keep a big part of their crypto assets, which are not being traded, on their own mobile wallets.

Although mobile wallets are not as secure as expensive hardware wallets because these are still connected to the internet and thus are not totally free against remote attacks, these are still way better than exchange wallets. Mobile wallets are not only free to download, portable and easy to access but also give users the full control over their private keys.

In this article, I go through my favourite options.

5. Edge Wallet

Edge Wallet has ease of use as one of the main focus points in its development. By allowing users to hold their digital assets using their username and password, it makes securing their assets less intimidating.

At Present, Edge supports more than 30 digital assets and enables for swaps between these assets. It also allows users to purchase and sell their assets without leaving the wallet application.

To protect assets, Edge allows users to set up a passcode and two-factor authentication (2FA) to prevent unauthorized access from other devices even if the username and password is compromised. Also, it has a help center to answer inquiries and guide users in troubleshooting their wallets, in case the need arises.

Although Edge does not support staking of proof-of-stake (PoS) assets, users can still earn passive income by pledging and lending their assets to CredEarn.

There is magnum wallet. Although I do not hear of it a lot. Good feature there - you can set view only wallet, from other blockchain or import wallet. Importing existing account is something that I think missing in many other wallets
