Watch it snow

That was what he was, always had been, unkind. Now he suddenly showed up in jail. She wondered who let him in.

"You confessed?"

"Yes."

It surprised him she dared to look him in the eye and her 'yes' sounded firm. Firm enough to make him hesitate for a second.
She waited for him to say more but he didn't. There wasn't more to tell or anything that could make these years of humilation, fear, amusement and violence better than the cold reality of what it was. She knew what Fidelo had told her was true. She had been there and knew there was more, way more. She was quite and with that, her short trial the story would end for her not for those left and still searching or suffering because of those they lost. It was strange to consider that what people missed would be most likely never be the person the deceased one would have grown into. Perhaps all those parents, she included, should feel obliged because he killed them. Screwed up adults they would have been. Screwed up like that Ben who was clearly under his influence. The world didn't need more of those people. What a nation it would be if they all were like him. She waited.

"You have anything to say."

"I recognized him, the idiot."

These were her last words before he pulled the trigger. The camera recorded it all and on his way out he was arrested before 9 p.m.

Uwaaaah. Did she really deserve to die, and why would he do that there? He must have been very angry at what she did. Too bad.

Good question. I assume she became a threat because she didn't fear him any longer or because it was something he felt to. You never know why someone pulls the trigger and if for what reason.

That could be the reason, but in the end, it was all in his head. Maybe they'll get a confession out of him.

Or they shoot him too. Fidelo runs out of time he asked for his early retirement. 🥳

Exactly. Seems even the police are ruthless as well. Nothing new.

Indeed nothing new but it's good to point at it. One might easily forget and before you know you are...

We all know how the narrative ends. Even if we advocate against it and try to believe our voices can be heard, there'll always be donut-eating badge-wearing cops who think their position is good to facilitate oppression/suppression.
