It's not only that the lack of motivation to stick to the coronavirus advices is increasing but so does the trust in the government and... the PM of the Netherlands. It's what the newspaper AD stated. How do they know? They let a bureau interview the nation and this bureau came with a respectable conclusion.
If I read this I can only laugh out loud. Respectable? What exactly makes an interview respectable? The fact this newspaper told them to do so? The fact 1077 people were willing to answer some questions? 1077 out of nearly 19 million people? I can't take this newspaper not the interview seriously. I know nothing about those volunteers. Nothing about their gender, age, education, health, wealth, hobbies, dreams, where their parents are born, etc. What those 1077 say says nothing, totally nothing about the opinion of the nation. It's just what the newspaper wants us to believe.
The same newspaper stated not that long ago prime minister Rutte was the perfect man to do the job, a real leader. He was the one finding a way out of the pandemic (at the time I read those words my first thought was: Elections coming up they use the pandemic to attack the opposition to make clear what a bunch of losers they are.). Everything changed quickly. At a sudden PM, Rutte is no longer seen as a hero. The investigation made it clear, a part of those 1077 lost their trust (true or not true?) which resulted in a newspaper who suddenly forgot they were the ones who spread the news about the PM's greatness. The news they suddenly cannot remember most likely because it is safer to go where the wind blows.
You can never believe what they write in the newspapers. They always have a personal purpose. They manipulate the thinking of readers. It does not happen with the minority of readers who so easily change their impression of things but they do change the unsuspecting reader. They change the reader who believes everything he reads.
