Wednesday, news from the government, is over and the media already prepared us for "Prinsjesdag" (Princes their day). No, it isn't a celebration day but the day (third Tuesday in September) the government will present its budget for 2021 and the king will say what he always says: "It isn't so bad, if we all stick together, keep distance and spend/eat less we will be fine." Anyone who knows what the king and his family look like, how much they spend, how they ignore the rules, and how much the social help for each of their family member is raised time after time can not take these words seriously.
Not seriously taken can be the government's budget either. Year after year it's the same story. The government says A (the Rekenkamer (calculation room) calculated each budget exactly) and three weeks later it is changed (more expenses) and at the end of the year, the costs raised with 50%. If you ask me those who work it out are not what we call rekenwonders (great if it comes to counting).
A good example is the health insurance. You are not free to decide if you have one it is the law. This means you are automatically billed by the state for about 1500 euros. This assurance takes care of you after you paid the first few hundred euros yourself. Dentists and medication are not included. My own risk is 885 euros a year (a person). I better not get ill because I do not have this amount saved.
The health insurance will increase with at least 62 euros and the newspaper (cited the minister of health) says no way it will be 122 euros (wanna bet?). Of course, it is not the third Tuesday in September yet and so much can happen before that date and... after that date and... at the end of the year because as we all know those health insurance are private and they charge you the amount they want. They do not care about your health or the fact you can not afford to pay the bill. They will earn anyway, it's the law. You might not have the savings but they have and way more than needed and that's what counts.
Great
