No, it has nothing to do with liberty, this is not America but divorce. Apparently, it is the Day of the Divorce and the Dutch taxes start a campaign to inform people about what to do if it comes to taxes if you are in a divorce. I thought it is a joke, I mean this day, but it is not. Yesterday I read it is grandparents day and each day it turns out to be some kind of day we are forced to congratulate a certain group, remember them, buy a pie, or whatever more is expected from us (most likely giving high financial gifts to organizations who waste the money in a way I don't agree with and that's why I give nothing to those big guys with their fat income. Earnings they received by scamming, taking, advertising false information.
Back to Divorce Day. I wish you strength with it. Most likely the fight will take years and sharing your tax in the year of your divorce is one of the worst advice I read. The pissed partner will not share with you and is the only one having benefit from it. The partner laughs out loud and you get zero and the tax tells you to pay 3000 euro. The taxes bureau doesn't care about justice, Divorce Day and their slogan "we can't make it easier for you" is the biggest joke of all.
What an unusual commemorative day. It makes no sense to remember a separation. Your government is weird
