'Craving for the best' is one of the comments (or tips if you like) @morningstar mentioned a few months ago in an article.
Crave for the best is, if you ask me, something each nation does and so did the Dutch one as their history started. Simple people, most of them not education at all but they worked hard, very hard, and hoped for a better life for themselves and their (great-grand) children. No matter how much you look down on them or like to punish them, rip them off, this nation managed to do something that many did not, even not managed to do in 2020! Dutch people might sound sober, cold to you but they can build something out of nothing, they know how to save, how to work hard, and to make sacrifices.
Do the Dutch have culture? Of course, they have but it is no longer a secret it is fought. It is fine with the government and wanted by the new emigrants. Emigrants many of the Dutch people are no longer crazy about. Not because of the color of the skin, the different culture, food or smells or the fact they have a different lifestyle but the fact they refuse to help build the country, they not stick to the laws, wreck down everything and are only present to demand, complain, rape, steal because to their opinion everything is for free and it is normal, accepted, in their country.
Because everything is for free there's no need to work.
A house, income, furniture is all for free they think and they truly believe it's a life without worries the Dutch lead. The emigrants help each other to find the maze in the net, play dumb and sick. Something Dutch people can't and with Dutch I mean all those people raised and born in the Netherlands or those who integrated (and yes, we still lead our own life, eat rice and watch what we like in our house).
Many of those who once came and worked hard are integrated, part of the mixed community of the Netherlands. A part of them is so much integrated they know nothing about the culture or the language of their parents or grandparents their home country.
Indeed, the tulips are not ours but we have many different good kinds of cheese and we are cheese lovers. We have good, famous writers and painters and unique architecture, and our dykes and windmills are famous. We can ice skate and as soon as the ice is thick enough the 'Elfstedentocht' (eleven cities tour) for skaters is planned.
There are several folklore musea where you can see how people once lived, the houses, furniture, clothes. Some live there and show how people worked at that time, bread was baked and more.
In some villages, people still live as if you are back a few hundred years in time. The elderly are still dressed in the old fashioned way.
The Dutch do have folklore clothes, music, dances, and famous musicians and actors as well. The fact several have emigrated doesn't mean they are no longer Dutch.
Dutch people have a history, history, and culture older than the USA. They even built a part of that country. We all know 'New York' means new Amsterdam. Keep in mind the Netherlands is a country built by Dutch people, built by farmers and fishermen. People used to a hard life, willing to fight. Many lost their life. They died young but were never lazy or not creative or willing to try something new. Leaving their country and meet different people, a new world, try out new food. They did more than fighting against intruders like Spain, France and Germany (If you look at a map on the internet you see how small the country hundreds of years ago was. Even more sea, water than today.)
We have Erasmus, Philips and although the car no longer exists the truck Daf still does. The country has great soccer players and its celebration days. What hurts is this culture is fought because of the Kallergi plan, the EU. The Kallergi plan is the basis of the EU, what Brussel uses to build one big superpower nation. A nation with one culture, one history most likely it already started. A history built out of discrimination against the own culture, own nation, by welcoming killers and rapists with the goal a generation born out of rapes. Is this the civilization we live in?
It doesn't feel good. Many who integrated well live in a hell caused by a few terrorists, jihadists, and lefties. These are all good people. They feel threatened and are hated by their Muslim "brothers", Christians and all those others with or without a belief, and for what reason? Which war, whose war needs to be fought this time?
Will the Netherlands have a future as a kingdom or Republic? I have strong doubts about it. The government covers up the crimes. Perhaps it is Macron who can make changes. Cleans up the mess the EU created. Perhaps France ends the hate for each other which isn't started by a coronavirus or pandemic but the greed of a few. Those few who want the same if not more than Hitler wanted. Finally building the one and only superpower state. Hitler tried it (indeed at that time the Kallergi plan already existed!) and now it is Merkel and Brussel their job.
At times I wonder what the use of fighting for your country, even dying for it is. Those heroes of the second and first world war, all those others who died for centuries in name of a king, queen, or a good are today's betrayers. Street names have to be changed, statues are wrecked, and slowly the entire culture is wiped out. Dutch people should be ashamed about their history and culture they say. If you ask me they can be proud. They created land out of the sea, are a small nation with guts, have a fighter's mentality and they shared more than most nations in this world did. Nearly each family is a mix of cultures for hundreds of years. Those simple, sober, low educated farmers and fishermen opened their homes, heart, to so many and if you ask me they, their great great great great grandchildren deserve better than be treated as the worst people on earth.
I don't know a culture in this world that didn't steal, lied, abused others, used their people or neighbor fellows for slaves, raped, killed, and even cut them in pieces and ate them.
It's easy to wipe out someone's culture, look down on them but if you are one of them keep in mind who you are starting the fight with. Many come from countries where no one has skills, the place is wrecked down. Vandalism isn't a skill and you might cross a border several times but don't be surprised if people have enough from you and fight back. Dutch people might not be the first if it comes to fighting but they can fight and kill too. Women fought for the right, the right to be 'boss in own belly' for example. Macron (France) will not stand alone in the end. Although, once they were the enemy we have an old bond with France as well and in the end, we all crave for the best. What is best for us, our nation, the right to have a history and culture of our own.
