Countdown - A luke warm welcome

We didn't know what to expect. Life went on and that timer was set long ago. Must have been time, the time it calculated went slow. Most of us died long ago it was the old man, me a a handful of others. 

You'll see, it's unique, Gal you are so lucky, the old wise man said. He waited on the rid till the timer would stop. 

Wave love, you should wave and wish them welcome. I lifted my hand but didn't understand what the meaning of it was. Waving, saluting at a vintage clock. 

A click, a flash and there it was, something dropped out of the sky. 

The new ones are there, gestured the wise man and I heard his voice in my head as he said: Go Gal, go you should give them a luke warm welcome, be the first one before they start a countdown and reset the clock. They won't be here for long, only to check out how we are doing. Go, perhaps they bring you a bar of chocolate.
