Why we do not wear face masks?
Because it's not said they are effective and the greatest fear is people will no longer keep social distance!
The Dutch Health Institution advises the government, actually, one single person does. I forgot his name. It happens to me frequently if I consider what is said nonsense or if it does not make sense what is said.
This institution seems to go where the wind blows. The PM does the same. By now mayors and the government are divided if it comes to the coronavirus, how it spreads, sense, and common sense.
The government had such great plans, including restrictions after the lockdown ended (around June 11). The schools started again and no one became ill. It was the same after two demonstrations outside. No one became ill.
All kinds of tests were done and yesterday's truth turned out to be today's lie. Not that these were all lies. If you read closely what was written and ignore the gossip headlines you mainly read "might be", "it can be possible", "perhaps", "there's a small chance...", all glued into sentences with more "ifs" and "It's imaginable...blah, blah". The end of the story is you know nothing new.
The COVID app isn't introduced. Those seven who came with an app idea showed a lousy product and the government and opposition and many more were not happy if I may believe the media. Just before the summer holidays started the government terminated the app idea. Not that it mattered because Google sneakily installed this service on each phone. Google the giant who already knows all about you. The only thing you need to do is to activate your location and Bluetooth. Not that google needs a location switch on they already know where you are hiding.
The government truly believes the majority of the people are dumb, a part already lives in anxiety and they think with this gesture they feel heard.
It didn't work out that well because the PM, who accused other countries of dictatorship at the start of the lockdown, decided after the lockdown to make a new law. A law that allows the police to enter your house and investigate it and take you and your visitors to prison if you are with too many. Pity if you have a small house. Inside you need to keep social distance too.
If you still want to meet, touch, or kiss someone you better start your own corona-crew.
The corona-crew are those people you meet on a regular base. You don't need to be married but the safest way is to join the same household. Not a bad idea because the rent and prizes in the shops increased by about 20%. You better share your budget if you want to survive the end of the year.
The government made itself unpopular after introducing the new law which should start in July 2020 and remain for at least one year. One minister suggested skipping the elections (what's wrong with voting online if banking is safe enough?). To me, this feels like dictatorship.
In the meanwhile new research proved people are mainly infected inside.
Two types of people can infect you.
1. Those who cough, spit while they speak, sing, and stand very close to you. They are not dangerous if you keep some distance because those big spats fall down.
2. Those who do not look ill and breathe, speak, laugh, sing it out. Their minuscule aerosols float around for a long time inside. Those people have an extremely high amount of the virus in them and are the biggest worry. They are the ones who infect most people and there's no way to trace them.
Because infections happen inside there's no reason to wear a face mask outside.
You can sit outside at a restaurant or bar or wherever you like. As long as your corona-crew is with you, you can be close. If you are without a crew you are doomed to be alone and keep distance everywhere you go. The corona-crew has to do the same. You can stay close together but not be close to others. You can chat with them from a distance.
Since we celebrate the Summer holidays the government skipped the new law.
No worries they won't give up their dictatorship that easily. "Let's gove the people a break", they said to each other, "after the holidays we lock them in again. It will be a piece of cake since they enjoyed themselves, have some memories and photos to look back at and the winter will be there soon enough. In the meanwhile we let the newspapers spread the breaking news the number of sick people increased from 1 to 3, next to 7 and 10 so it won't be a big surprise the new law will be introduced."
People are not used to it
