Art Explained by A Writer: A Fight Between A Tiger and A Buffalo
He is so handsome and elegant
Lightning fast with such a colourful outfit
How can I not be crazy about that man
Who takes the slow pace and boredom out of my existence?
He prowled through the jungle
How wonderful her scent was
It was impossible to deny it
That he didn't show interest in the plump lady.
He moved elegant, low to the ground
Kept an eye on her day and night
What if someone else noticed her
And snatched her away in front of his face?
His heart pounded with restlessness.
From a tree branch, he watched
How the feminine beauty moved away
Unrest overcame him
Was she looking for something?
He observed distantly
Her lovely snout down to the ground
What was it that she saw?
As he bent over he lost his balance
Landed on his feet with a plow.
A lonely sob rang through the night
Caught up in her feelings, she did not see him
How can such a perfect man like him feel anything for me, she cried.
I'm too fat, too clumsy, too slow, worthless without the herd.
I wish you would see me
He whispered into the night
The wind delivered the message
Abruptly she stood still
For a minute it was as if the world became impoverished.
Did she feel it too?
He gathered all his courage and growled
I love you tight, I find you delicious!
Fight between a Tiger and a Buffalo (1908) - Julien Félix Rosseau
It was not a fight for death and life
But love those two made
He sunk his teeth into her neck gently
When she bent down to be closer to her lover.
Blissfully, she closed her eyes
The prince of her dreams had finally come.
