These colorful characters, whom we met on PlayStation 2 in 2002, were so loved that they have been continuing the adventure at full throttle for 19 years. We've seen dozens of games in between, generations have changed, and at this point, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, developed exclusively for PlayStation 5, really left its impact on the promotion of PS5. A very enjoyable adventure awaits you in this game as a result of a colorful world, interdimensional travels, breathless adventure, entertaining dialogues, a fluid story and a sense of spaciousness in gameplay.
Yes, sir, let's get to the point: Those who know Ratchet & Clank will know, those who don't will be familiar with it immediately. These two are the galaxy's greatest heroes. This time, our duo, the troublemaker of Doctor Nefarious, are carrying their glory between dimensions.
Those who have played the previous games will know that Ratchet is the only living Lombaks in his universe. Our beloved robot Clank can't handle this sadness anymore and he is finally making a weapon called the Sizer that can open the doors of different dimensions. That's the story, the weapon is captured by Doctor Nefarious and what happens: The doors of different universes open and the paths of Ratchet and Clank diverge into different dimensions. As Ratchet, our goal is to first find Clank, who has fallen into a different dimension, and then take down Doctor Nefarious.
Not everything is milky in the dimension that Clank transitions to. A different version of Doctor Nefarious, Clank, who fell into a captured dimension of Emperor Nefarius, finds Lombaks here. The name of our beloved Lombaks is Rivet. (Do you think Ratchet finally gets his soul mate?) On the other hand, Ratchet is not alone this time, he also meets Kit. Yes, this is how our story begins, on the axis of two Lombaks heroes, accompanied by sections that progress in parallel.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a game that never slows down. In fact, except for the cutscenes in the game – unless you stop and watch the environment- there is no stop. Equipped with platform elements by its nature, we encounter many conflict scenes throughout our adventure, as in previous games, we encounter creatures and dangers specific to each planet along the way while traveling from planet to planet.
In Rift Apart, which is a game that can offer pure entertainment with its platform dynamics, you can rally on the rails, reach inaccessible places by making wall runs, and move forward quickly by firing your flying boots. On the other hand, you also use Ghost Leap a lot and teleport a lot between platforms with Omnigloves.
We also have a wide range of weapons. Each of these weapons is different from each other, and indeed, they are both enjoyable to use and diverse in functionality. We can't do without our omni-switch anyway; There is so much variety among such diverse and creative weapons as the Burst Pistol, Topiary Sprinkler and Shatterbomb that they simply can't fit in the D-Pad. You open the weapon wheel with the triangle key and you can reach each of them from here. This combination will not be a method you will be lazy; After a while, your fingers will slide like butter on DualSense and you will want to hit your opponents with a different weapon during the fight. You can become the nightmare of your enemies with laser, pump, rocket launcher, or you can water them green and then prune them well. The choice is yours.
Of course, there is also a skill tree in the game. You can strengthen your weapons and gain new abilities with the Raritaniums you collect by searching the planets. In order to strengthen your character, you need to get set clothes. You can make Ratchet and Rivet stronger by acquiring costume sets consisting of 3 items in the form of helmets, chest armor and boots. You can sometimes get these costume parts as a part of the story, but you need to get them by walking around and doing side quests. Yes, there are also side missions in the game. There is bound to be someone on the planets you visit who asks for your help. Well, after all, you are the most popular hero in the galaxy.
There are also mini puzzles throughout the game. It is impossible not to mention Lemmings here. Because in the puzzles we will solve with Clank, we need to deliver a series of Lemmings Clank to the starting point.
