Hello dear readers, we return after several months of absence, this time with a topic that has made us reflect a lot and we hope you also join us in this reflection, about the Roman Empire, we can not deny that it had a vast territorial domain and much lasting influence in history, still remain a constant source of fascination and reflection, however we have a big question:

What would have happened if this Empire still stood in our times?

Imagine a world in which the Roman Empire never fell and how this would totally change our current reality. We have to take into account those positive and negative aspects if this would have happened:

s of belonging to the Roman Empire today:

  • Stability and Security: We cannot deny that under the control of the Roman Empire according to History, many regions experienced a remarkable political stability and above all security, which allowed its citizens to live without the constant "fear" of conflicts and wars.

  • Advanced Infrastructure: The Roman Empire was famous for its advanced engineering works, such as: aqueducts, roads, bridges. A world in which the Roman Empire was still standing indicates that we would continue to enjoy such a majestic, solid and well-developed infrastructure.

  • Culture and Education: Nor can we deny that from Rome cultural development, art and education were encouraged, many libraries and schools flourished, which possibly would have resulted in a more educated and cultured society. Do you think this is possible?

  • Unity and Trade: For the Roman Empire to unify vast regions was synonymous with success, to promote trade, this would have facilitated interaction between diverse cultures and allowed for a more fluid cultural and economic exchange.

Negatives of belonging to the Roman Empire today:

  • Centralization of Power: Unfortunately the concentration of power in Rome often resulted in decisions that were unilateral that might not take into account the needs of those regions that depended on the Empire, this could have generated resentment in some part of the population.

  • Social Inequality: Although today we still have such inequality, in Rome despite its advances, there was also a marked social inequality, the Aristocrats enjoyed privileges while the majority of the population faced difficult conditions.

  • Economic Decline and Corruption: Neither can we say that this has been overcome today, over time the Roman Empire faced economic problems and corruption, these challenges could have continued in an alternative timeline.

Imagining a world in which the Roman Empire still existed is an interesting and rather curious exercise, because we can speculate historically speaking. Although we cannot deny that it would have had positive aspects but it would also have faced significant challenges. Here we can reflect on this topic, starting with the understanding that history is marked by many changes that are mostly inevitable, the development of humanity is the result of different factors. Therefore, we should appreciate both the positive and negative lessons of Roman history, as we focus on creating our own paths for the present and future.

If the Roman empire still existed we lived in one big Italy that hardly looks at Italy these days.

The Roman Empire was one with mentally sick rulers, incest, eunuchs, war, bread and games and many inmates. Within 100 years we might live in a world like that again in the ruins of what once was, without electricity, the internet, and the luxuries we take for granted.

🍀💕

I visited Italy in May and travelled around. Rome didn't impress me.
