Hello my good friends, I want to answer this question that arises because of a comment I heard today in the public transport, about education and reading, some people claimed that it was a waste of time, the important thing is to make money and that's it.

However, as a lover of reading and knowledge, I understand the importance of education and reading for human and social development. Both tools allow us to acquire the knowledge and skills that enable us to improve our lives and better understand the world around us. In this article, I will discuss how education and literacy can improve our world.

First, it is important to note that education and reading open doors to new possibilities and horizons. Through them we can discover new areas of interest, acquire technical and professional skills, and even learn new languages and cultures. Education and reading can be the path to personal and professional success, which can have a positive impact on our communities and the world at large.

In addition, education and reading can foster values and skills that are fundamental to peaceful and harmonious coexistence. Through education, we can learn to respect cultural differences, value diversity, develop communication and negotiation skills, and foster values such as tolerance and empathy. Reading can help us better understand other people's experiences and points of view, develop empathy and understanding, and foster respect and tolerance.

"Of the various instruments invented by man, the most amazing is the book; all others are extensions of his body... Only the book is an extension of imagination and memory." Jorge Luis Borges.

In addition, education and reading can have a significant impact on social and economic development. Education improves people's skills and productivity, which can drive economic growth and improve the quality of life in communities. Reading fosters the development of cognitive skills and critical thinking, which can have a positive impact on social and economic problem solving.

In conclusion, education and reading are powerful tools that can have a significant impact on our lives and the world at large. Both open doors to new opportunities, foster values and skills that are fundamental for peaceful and harmonious coexistence, and contribute to social and economic development. Therefore, it is important to promote education and reading as tools to improve our lives and build a better world. For many years I have tried to inspire and motivate the people around me to become literate and engaged readers.
