In The Place Of The Former Mcdonald's On Gosport High Street, A Vape Shop Has Opened
The property at 57-59 High Street, which formerly housed a McDonald's restaurant but has been shuttered since October 2018, has been abandoned for the better part of a year and a half.
However, vape shop VPZ just celebrated its formal opening on the property today, and as a result, five new employment have been created in the community.
The new location, which is the 155th one owned by the corporation in the UK, has a variety of e-cigarette and alternative tobacco goods.
A statement made by the director of the company, Doug Mutter, was as follows: "As part of our ambitious growth ambitions across the UK, we are thrilled to be opening the doors of our Gosport store."
We are committed to generating jobs and investing in communities around the United Kingdom, just like we are doing here in Gosport, at a time when many businesses are leaving high streets across the country.
"Every new store opening allows us to achieve a bigger reach, giving us with a platform to engage and educate even more smokers on the benefits of switching to vaping," says the company. "Each new store opening helps us to achieve a greater reach."
Customers who sign up for VPZ's loyalty programme and make a purchase of more than £5 this weekend will be eligible to get a free vape kit as a thank-you gift.
Customers will be able to keep regular tabs on their progress toward quitting smoking with the use of a carbon monoxide testing monitor and a lung capacity monitor, both of which will be installed in the Gosport store when it opens.
Customers who continue to vape after the 30-day assistance programme has ended will be awarded with a coupon to help them continue their path away from smoking.
In November of 2016, the business also launched a location in the city of Fareham.
