The Heartbroken Experience: We Go Through Hard Times
2020, I got heartbroken.
The whole world was in a Pandemic, I suffered a heartdemic.
I was in a relationship I thought was going to lead into marriage. The relationship lasted for five(5) years, and I thought I had already ticked all my boxes on love. I had even forgotten how to ask a lady out. It was out of the question.
I cried my brains out, although, I had heard stories in the past of men breaking down after an heartbreak, I didn't know I'd later join the league.
I knew all the lyrics of Billie Eilish, Lewis Capaldi, San Smith, et al.
I listened to Fireboy's dreamer to the stage where the guy should already have developed mouth ache.
James Arthur? I wish I could really "Rewrite the Stars".
Hard guy, hard guy, I cried!
It's a lady I asked out for four years, and someone I had crushed on since primary school, but at the end of it all, love is not enough. Love takes more than love!
It was a beautiful time dating in school especially, couple goals!
Life at times, comes at us with 'reality checks'.
It was a torrid time, that was accompanied with panic attacks, depression, having to meet a therapist, trying very hard to forget what you really can't forget. You can only try to move.
My heart suffered, till I resolved in me that she was fine. Mirage, as it'd look.
I could not get over the flashbacks of the beautiful memories, the beautiful memories later turned into constant nightmares, you know, couldn't get over the fact of how amazing she was as a person.
I couldn't tell the story, I was just trying to use many means to express myself.
One thing is, it is very easy for you to forget someone you have problems with, you'd use the problem with the person as an escape to be angry, and when your anger subdues, you might as well forgive the person.
Forgetting that person is not the same as forgetting someone you shared beautiful moments with and have great memories of.
How can you possibly forget love, affection, kindness, amongst many other good traits?
And it's easy for people to advise one to move on because we're all great advisors when it's not our story. We will never feel the things people feel, on heartbreaks, divorces, childbirth, death of a loved one, or anything that people are really going through.
We'll be humbled, when we face ours.
Definitely, a lot of people are going through hard times, of different sort.
This is me saying that you're not alone. I do not want to sound like a motivational speaker, but I want to let you know that you'll get better, and be a better person as you pull through whatever phase it is.
Do not give up on yourself, you're a great person!
I saw many ups and down in my life. But I don't like to give up.
