ODEM, is a global educational provider, that has the first blockchain driven, software platform, based on the ODEM ERC-20 token. With the use of smart contracts, educational programs, and credentials, are managed flawlessly. Within the platform, users can see, their profiles, programs, events, certificates obtained, calendar, message center, rewards/payments and student's qualifications. Another token, the ODEM-C, a ERC-780 token, is a digital certificate, given to students, who successfully complete, educational offerings. The users are able to request a new program, enroll in an available program, list a program, list an event, message other users, bid on programs, request certificates, verify/deny claims, and issue certificates.
How it works
When a student wants to enroll, in a program, he must stake 10% of the total price of the program. If he decides, to back-out later, the stake will be forfeited. Educators, also have to stake, to offer an ODEM program. This discourages, bad use of the platform, like students leaving, and educators stopping their program. With the use of ODEM-C, digital certificates, are stored, on the blockchain, so we have a trust-less certificate awarding/handling on the platform.
Economics
With the platform, short-term academic programs, can be offered. Third parties, can pay to have access, to student's digital certificates. Revenue, can be shared with smart contracts, to other platform partners, when their services are delivered, through the platform. Educators can earn, when other educators, get access, to their content, to create new programs.
I see this as a great innovation, for education, that allows, anyone, from any country, with internet access, to be able to educate himself, easily.
