State of emergency, code red has been established!

The authorities in Dâmboviţa county have activated the Red Intervention Plan following the explosion followed by the fire that occurred on Saturday evening, at an LPG station located on DN 1A, in the town of Crevedia.

Road traffic was, shortly after, blocked after the explosion, and the IGSU imposed a safety perimeter of 300 meters.

Until now, there is no official information regarding the cause of the event in Crevedia, but according to eyewitnesses, the first explosion actually involved a truck.

A car was also later engulfed in flames, followed by an explosion which threw a tank across the road, with the incident believed to have been triggered when the fuel transfer was carried out and spilled into a underground container.

The Ministry of Labor will propose to the Government, according to the law, the granting of emergency aid for the families of the victims as well as for those affected by the event in Crevedia, according to a post on the Ministry's Facebook page.

Two people died and 57 were seriously injured following several explosions that took place on Saturday evening at a LPG station located on DN 1A, in Crevedia township, Dâmboviţa county.

39 firefighters are among the injured victims. 10 people are in serious condition. Three thousand inhabitants were evacuated from a radius of 800 meters.
