The Twitter social platform has opened a department to develop solutions in the field of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, decentralized applications and DeFi.
The formed unit will be engaged in integration with Web 3.0 and interaction with the BlueSky initiative aimed at decentralization of social networks, reports Tess Rinearson, head of Twitter Crypto.
"I am pleased to announce that I joined Twitter to lead a new team focused on cryptography, blockchains and other decentralized technologies, including cryptocurrencies and more," she wrote.
Previously, Tess Rinearson participated in the development of the Tendermint Core protocol, as well as participated in Chain.com and Cosmos projects.
The priorities of the unit will be payments in the crypt, ways of earning cryptocurrency by content creators and decentralization of the network.
Earlier, Twitter had already allowed Bitcoin to accept donations and announced NFT identification. According to Rinearson, Twitter Crypto will study what else can be done in this direction
