two thumbs up!
Gosh, that's a harsh comparison. I mean, what do you have against screwdrivers? :-) Okay, more seriously, I wish doctors would be seen as highly skilled mechanics, but instead of working on cars, they work on human bodies. This would have two benefits: 1. A better understanding of what a doctor can/can't do. 2. Maybe a better appreciation for all mechanics.
Haha spot on as usual but in my view, they are supposed to be highly skilled mechanics that do what is best for the cars. I don't think that is the case anymore. These mechanics realized there is more money to be made by selling more services and replacing parts when it isn't necessary. They get a big cut from the spare part retailers and the service stations when they convince the car owners into buying unnecessary stuff. Under this incentive structure, they slowly became just another tool to make more money for their car repair establishment with no regard for anything else.
Yet another descriptive argument for why doctors and mechanics have a lot in common.
