One order of egg sandwich worth PHP 570, one order of omelette worth PHP 570 and two glasses of coffee worth PHP 570. My total bill is more or less 1,700 in Philippine peso.
The total investment of the cafe I ate at here in my order was less than 150 pesos, including labor cost and overhead expenses.
The question is, why would they sell it for PHP 1,700? Because they are located inside the Dubai Mall, one of the most expensive real estate in the world.
So what is the lesson we can learn here?
We are all equally made of eggs, bread and coffee but our income is different.
The janitor at Manila City Hall and the janitor at Burj Khalifa are both hardworking but their salaries are very far apart.
The nanny in the Philippines earns 3K to 8K pesos per month while the nanny in Dubai earns between 21,000 to 42,000 pesos per month.
So what's my point?
The value of your personality does not depend on what you are or who you are. Your value is based on where you are.
No matter how much effort and hard work you put into it, if you are not in the right place, your price tag will remain low.
The truth is, you are not worthless. You are a valuable human being. You deserve more in this world. It's just that you are in the wrong place where you are not given the right consideration.
