They said, we only have one planet to live on 🌎 . Yes, that is true until Elon finds a way to find a new habitable planet. When I was a kid 🧒 , I was always reminded by my teacher to put small pieces of candy wrappers in my pocket and to throw them out when I see garbage 🚮 . As a kid, I did not fully understand what is the impact of this simple act. I just do what the teacher says without hesitations.
As I grew, I noticed that every summer became hotter and hotter🥵. In my mind, it must be global warming. Ice sheets are melting and stronger storms are created. 🧊
As modern technology comes by, many companies are changing their ways on how to lessen pollution. 🧩For example, A big supermarket near my place encourages us to bring our own plastic bags or eco-bags. For an extra plastic bag, I have to shell out extra two pesos. Imagine if I have to buy five pieces of plastic bags 🛍 . I do not want to shell out money again and again. haha! I'm a little bit thrifty, though. So, here are some ways to save the earth.
Investing in a high-quality metal straw.
Back then, I always ask for straw whenever I am in a restaurant or just ordering milk tea🍵. I felt bad for just using it once then throwing it out😔. What makes me more guilty is when I knew that plastic takes a thousand years before it rots. I got the 3 sets of straw and a cleaning tool.😊 I just spent around 3 USD for the three straws plus the cleaning tool.
2. Setting a timer in my airconditioner
When it comes to investing in appliances, I go for the high quality👌. I know that it is more expensive compared to cheap quality. What I believe is, the longer I can use my appliances, the more savings for ✨me✨. My timer is from 9 pm to 5 am. I cannot turn on my air conditioner in the morning or afternoon unless it is super hot or I am sick. Setting a timer will help be forced to save energy. It is also cutting my bills on electricity. ⚡ ⚡⚡🔌I
Investing in a sturdy eco bag
Every year, more and more plastic is produced🌀. In my little way, I buy sturdy eco bags for my grocery. Sometimes my grocery weighs over 10 kilos so I have to look for a good quality eco bag. Currently, I have four bags but now, I do not use them because of the pandemic 🛄 .

Buying high-quality clothes. 👖
Buying high-quality clothes means I can wear them often without them being easily fade or destroyed. This will prevent me from buying clothes again and again 🤔. I'll just stick to clothes that can last at least five years. I choose clothes that are classic or timeless. I avoid fashion trend brands like Forever 21, Cotton On, etc. I prefer ✨Levi's, Sperry, Zara, etc. ✨
We recycle bottles are containers.
We collect used glass bottles of fruits, vegetable, any container that can use again. We wash and sanitize them to store liquids, sauces, condiments. 🥫🧂🍶 This way, we do not need to buy containers from the store. Instead of buying new canisters, we opted for recycled glass containers that have the same function. ♻
