Love is not views on a bench

Everything that men do on this planet, they do because of a woman, in the name of a woman or for her. No wonder the French proverb says: "Cherchez la femme" / Cherche la femme/ is a French expression that literally means "look for a woman".

According to the speaker of this phrase, the cause of the event, disaster, crime is a woman. The expression became famous thanks to the novel by Alexandre Dumas-father "The Mohicans of Paris" in 1854, where the phrase "Cherchez la femme, pardieu! Cherchez la femme!" is a saying of a Parisian police official. The phrase is repeated several times in the novel.

You can disagree and dispute, but there is a deep meaning in this saying. And it lies in the fact, in my opinion, that women very often act as a catalyst for many of a man's actions.

And I am sure that there were cases in your environment when a young man or a man rushed to protect his beloved sometimes at the cost of his life. It may be objected to me that not all women can influence the male sex in this way. I agree, not all of them. But who among them didn't want him to commit madness for her sake!

But for the sake of attracting the attention of a girl or a woman, males also commit reckless acts. That's one of them I want to tell you about.

On the map of the Samara region, you can easily find a provincial town called Syzran. It was 1956. Until 1953, there was separate education for boys and girls. And since 1953, girls began to appear in our class.

Since the beginning of the school year, in September, a girl named Tanya (Tatiana) appeared in our class. Nice face, friendly, well-built, smart enough, solid A's in many subjects. Of course, many of us were 14-15 years old, and the appearance of such a girl caused a general infatuation of the male half of the class. Someone was silent, and someone confessed his love, taking Tatiana to a dark corner.

But she was unapproachable. At the beginning of the academic year 1958, a young man named Vladimir was enrolled in our class. He was also struck by Tatiana's beauty. And as it became known later, a declaration of love became a matter of a few days.

Having been refused, he decided to commit suicide by drinking some kind of poison, (again, according to rumors). What he actually drank, no one really knew. He was immediately taken to the hospital by ambulance. A day or two later, I don't remember exactly, almost the whole class went to visit him, since the hospital was nearby. Although he looked pale, he was smiling broadly.

Tatiana came along with everyone. And, of course, she did not believe that he was poisoned because of her. She remained just as unapproachable until graduation. After graduation, she left Syzran with her parents.

For those who have everything ahead of them, including falling in love. The "object" of your love may have its own interests, its own views and completely different preferences than you. And you, with your interests, manners and tastes, are very far from her circle of interests.
