Depression is the name of the distance between you and your creator.
Khadija (R) was the daughter of a very rich family. It is normal to grow up in luxury. When the other tribes besieged the Quraish because of the preaching of Islam by the Prophet (peace be upon him), the children of the tribe of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Khadija (peace be upon him) had to live in severe hardship for two and a half years.
He even ate the leaves of the tree in hunger.
Hazrat Bilal (R) was an Abyssinian slave. For the crime of accepting Islam, he would be left in the desert sun, his body fat would melt away.
Imam Ibn Taymiyyah spent eight years in prison. He died in jail. But what did he say, you know?
Said, there is a paradise in the world, I have found that paradise in my heart.
Why did singer Linkin Park commit suicide if listening to music, watching movies, reading motivational books or chatting with people was the only way to get rid of depression? Or why did actor Sushant Singh commit suicide? Why did motivation guru Dale Carnegie commit suicide?
Allah, Islam, faith and depression cannot coexist in one heart. If you have the slightest bit of depression in your mind, it means that there is no God in your heart, but Satan has settled there.
Those who fall into depression or commit suicide, you will see in bold spots, they are agnostics or atheists. If a Muslim admits to depression, it's time to think about your faith.
This time many people will come and say, you will not understand my situation, my family problem, money problem, husband problem ..... Hey brother, stop !!
Tell me the story of a situation? Wife not good? Lot's wife was not good either. Who knows who was the husband of Hazrat Asiya (a)? Pharaoh.
Pharaoh was cut to pieces and drowned in hot oil for disobeying God.
Hear more? Depression so nothing is trying?
Prophet Noah (peace be upon him) was able to accept the invitation of eighty people for almost a thousand years.
Did your relatives hurt you? Slandered?
Joseph's brothers threw him into a well and left. The businessman's wife was sentenced to seven years in prison for not committing adultery with Zulekha !!
What situation would you still tell me?
Let's see what the Quran says-
When Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) reached old age, a group of angels came from Allah and gave him the good news of a wise son. In a voice full of astonishment, Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) asked: I am getting old, are you still giving me this good news ?! On what basis are you giving this good news? The angels said, "We are telling the truth." I am giving you true good news. Let old age touch you, you will have children at this old age. You don’t go to the party of the despairing. The Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) replied to them, "Who can despair of the mercy of his Lord except the misguided?" (See Surah Al-Hijr, verses 53-56)
Those who despair of God's mercy are called misguided !! Will you still tell me stories of depression?
Listen to another story-
The most beloved child of Hazrat Yaqub (as) was Hazrat Yusuf (as). But his brothers could not easily accept his father's caress, so one day they took him away from his father and threw him into a well.
Rising from the well by the infinite might of God, one day he became in charge of the treasures of Egypt. And the brethren that had conspired against him, being hungry, came unto him to fetch food. Then he tricked his brother Benjamin into leaving him.
Having lost two sons, the father of Hazrat Yaqub (as) said to the other sons, (Translation) ‘O my sons! Go and look for Joseph and his brother. Do not despair of God's mercy. Know for sure that no one can despair of Allah's mercy except the disbelievers. '{Surah Yusuf (12): 6
Read the last line again !!
Not only that, it is a sin for poets to be depressed by the mercy of Allah.
Take this hadith-
The famous Companion Hazrat Abdullah bin Masud. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to him, ‘Habru hazihil ummah’ - the learned man of this ummah. He said, "The greatest sin of the poets is to associate with Allah, to be free from the grip of Allah and to despair of the mercy of Allah."
(Musannafe Abdur Razzaq, Hadith 19801)
Playing music or movies, books will not free you from depression. The only cure for depression is to return to God. When your devil tells you that you are in a lot of trouble, there is no one who is in more trouble than you, then Allah says-
"There is relief with hardship. Of course there is relief with hardship."
[Surah Al-Alam Nasrah (94): 5-6]

Favorite actor Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide while the movie was a motivational, anti-suicide movie. The movie could not bring him back from depression. For the last six months, he was also receiving treatment, but to no avail. There is a cure for diseases of the body, there is no vaccine for the disease of the mind in medical science.
Dale Carnegie, the best-selling motivational book ever, committed suicide in his last life. The peddler of motivation could not get enough motivation to survive !!
Linkin Park. Listening to the songs of the band that makes our night dawn, we get a lot of encouragement, many people are looking for the elements of survival in their songs, the famous artists of that band could not find the elements of their own survival in their songs. Eventually he committed suicide.
Charlie Chaplin.
The best comedian of all time. No one knew what pain was hidden behind the foolish laughter of the man who made people laugh from all over the world. He finished himself.
So what is the solution?
Know that true peace of heart can be attained only through the remembrance of Allah.
Return to God.
Come back to the Quran.
The heart that has the love of the Most Gracious, the heart that has God in it, cannot have depression in its heart.
