There's two types of companies/protocols in this world now:
The disrupters
The disrupted
The disrupted are the current industry leaders that control almost every aspect of the internet today. From social media to finance, these mega-corporations are completely in control of how we interact with one another. The business model is to extract wealth from the users by either selling personal data or monopolizing an industry so users have very limited options. What's even worse is that these companies will acquire many up and coming startups for penny on the dollar if they see any type of threat to their hegemony. Although they have the financial resources and political sway, what they will not be able to compete with are decentralized and distributed protocols.
Crypto protocols are going to massively disrupt every single industry and bring these titans down to their knees. These slayed behemoths will run to the regulators and pay them off in order to shut down crypto by excessive restrictions and tax laws. Maximal decentralization will shield the crypto protocols from even being regulated, since there'll be no individual to regulate and subsequently penalize for not complying. Privacy via anonymity will protect the investors from the state regulations. The centralized middlemen will perish a slow but certain death at the hands of permission-less and trustless protocols, which empower their users with their own data and custody of funds. These projects are not small either. Here is a list of the current DAO's and their respective treasuries.
Although DeFi has disrupted the financial sector, there will be a multitude of industries disrupted:
Amazon will be disrupted by projects like Boson Protocol.
Twitter will be disrupted by BitClout and Aave's upcoming platform.
YouTube will be disrupted by BitChute, DTube, Odysee, 3Speak.
Google will be disrupted by Brave Search, DuckDuckGo, PreSearch.
Blogging will be disrupted by read.cash, Publish0x.
PayPal/CashApp will be disrupted by P2P wallets sending crypto.
State Lotteries will be disrupted by PoolTogether.
Elections will be disrupted by on-chain voting.
Regulators/Lawyers will be disrupted by Smart Contracts.
Finance will be disrupted by DeFi.
Corporations will be disrupted by DAO's.
The media will be disrupted by independent journalists on Substack.
Art will be disrupted by NFT's
Gaming will be disrupted by DAO's, NFT's.
Gold/P2P transactions will be disrupted by Bitcoin
Cash will be disrupted by anonymous private digital cash like Monero
DNS will be disrupted by Unstoppable Domains, ENS.
These are just a few examples, but make no mistake, there will be hundreds of more examples that will absolutely cripple their centralized counter parts. These new decentralized protocols are hope that we will be able to overcome the various monopolies in all industries of the world. For the sake of humanity and truth, they must succeed at all costs.
With the excessive censorship of ideas from Big Tech platforms like FB, Google, Twitter, and YouTube, we will see continue to see rapid migration from existing web 2.0 solutions of social media on to more permission-less and privacy oriented protocols on web 3.0. The sinister strategy of using the word 'moderation' in order to hide behind the acts of censorship will eventually lead to their demise and the creation of a new system that values everyone's ideas without censorship.
The legacy corporations that are highly centralized and permissioned will soon begin to lose a larger and larger percentage of their client base to their decentralized counterparts. It will uplift people from generational poverty because for the first time, everyone will have an equal opportunity to be significant in the world. Individuals will have the opportunity of maximum leverage to financially reap the rewards from all of their actions without a middleman.
Make no mistake, however, the legacy industries will slander their new opposition as "terrorists, thieves, scammers, drug dealers" only to realize that their stranglehold on the world's opinions has been shattered. The decentralized revolution will banish the greedy, opportunistic vultures into the deepest depths of the shadow realm. This decentralized revolution has already begun and the momentum is only getting stronger.
