Kahikatea trees, New Zealand 🇳🇿 The first picture are of some young kahikatea trees (see my previous post for young adults and crown shyness). These are one of the tallest trees in NZ - actually, the tallest kahikatea is 68m and the tallest in NZ! Most trees have now been removed for farming, all over the past 100 years.... but protected sites are very common now. Second picture is the dense bush (refer to previous post to see inside) and the third picture are the huge and strong roots of these amazing trees!
