The Kaori tree! New Zealand 🇳🇿 Can you spot me in that second photo? I’m sure you can, but that gives you an indication of just how huge these kaori trees can grow! It’s more about the width than the overall height. But this tree I am standing next to is about 150 years old, and these trees are known to live up to (and over) 1000 years... Did you know that the location of the oldest kaori tree in New Zealand is only known by a few people? This is to protect it! There is an extremely large one up north I’ve been to which is about double the width of the one here :) This weekly theme is ‘greenery’ I hope you’re all enjoying my posts! I have lots more forests, jungles, plants and hikes to share! Later this week I’ll share the goblin forest which is a personal favourite!:) peace and love
