Some people believe that eventually all jobs will be done by artificially intelligent robots. What is your opinion? Give reasons.
It is often predicted that all tasks are presumed to be taken over by robots in future for their benefits to humankind are indeed noteworthy. Although they do offer precision and time-saving, I strongly disagree with this assertion and believe that they can never replace humans due to them lacking emotions and their need of being controlled by humans eventually.
To begin with, robots lack basic emotions that are of crucial value in professions where human satisfaction and solace is of topmost priority. Emotions such as empathy and judgement are indispensable while dealing with mankind. In medicine, for example, although robots are able to perform surgeries with great accuracy, it is also important to provide comfort and care to patients according to their needs. This cannot be achieved by robots, who are just designed to execute their jobs precisely. Therefore, as far as taking care of human emotional needs is concerned, robots are still lagging behind and can not ever predominate humans.
Additionally, robots need humans to begin functioning in the first place. This means that they require instructions entered by humans for a task to be done. To illustrate, during the COVID-19 pandemic which led to a global halt, a Japanese university held a convocation ceremony, where robot simulators were used instead of human students. Those simulators were however being controlled by a person through a remote. Thus, it is prudent to ponder that when a machine cannot even move without human help, how can we expect it to replace humans altogether?
To conclude, it is frequently believed that, considering the pace of technological advancement, robots will replace humans very soon. Notwithstanding the advantages that they have, it is important to reiterate that robots are not only deficient in fundamental emotions, but they cannot operate on their own as well. Therefore, in my belief, the prediction that humans will be predominated by robots is absolutely preposterous.
