5 Misconceptions About Snakes

1. Snakes are poisonous:

Technically snakes are not poisonous, they are venomous.

Venom is different from poison.. Here is their difference.

According to oxford dictionary

  • Venom-   poison carried by an animal, usually injected into an enemy or prey by biting or stinging

  • Poison- A substance that is harmful or lethal to a living organism.

2. Snakes are after you-

snakes naturally are not hostile. It is humans that make them hostile. They only attack when you attack or when they feel threat. If you have noticed, when you encounter a snake its the snake that runs at the sense of your presence. Snakes are they after you. They only attack you when you come after them.

And because they have a very poor eyesight, they don't always pick the best route of escape,so they normally Stand and defend as the last resort.

This means that if a snake ever bite you its because you decided not to leave the snake alone.

*Some use snakes as pet.. So if its dangerous they wouldn't

3. Snakes are ugly

Ever seen a snake before? You can tell how beautiful they are. Snakes are one of the most beautiful creatures to live among us. Some believe that snakes don't hiss anymore that they call you baby.

4. Snakes are cold and slimy:

A lot of people believe that snakes are cold and slimy.. Well research has proven that the skin of a snake is dry. That its coldness or hotness depends on temperature.

5. Snakes always travel in pairs.

Research has proven otherwise, snakes don't travel in pairs. The only time you see two snakes in a place is during mating. Any other time you see two snakes, one is alive and one is dead. Because the larger snake will usually kill and eat the smaller one
