Data available in October showed that 71 per cent of Indians were hesitant to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. The situation improved somewhat later when Pfizer and Modernna revealed the results of the widespread effectiveness of their invented vaccines. In November, the number of Indians hesitant to get vaccinated dropped to 59 percent. News of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine being developed through the Serum Institute inspires new hope in India. But a survey by local circles shows that the news has added to Indians' hesitation about the vaccine. Now 69 percent of Indians are hesitant about whether to get the corona vaccine or not.There are various reasons behind this reluctance to vaccinate. The two main reasons are the side effects of the vaccine and doubts about the effectiveness of the vaccine in experimental application. Abdul Gafur, a member of Local Circles, conducted another independent survey last December. It also shows that a large portion of India's healthcare workers (55 per cent) are now hesitant to take the corona vaccine. Most say they are either concerned about the side effects of the vaccine or are unsure of its effectiveness. Approximately 80 percent of the health workers surveyed are involved in various work-related activities.
Another reason for reluctance to get vaccinated is the declining rate of corona infection in India. Apart from this, there is a kind of suspicion due to the haste with the approval of the two vaccines. Some experts have already issued warnings in this regard.
