The Importance of Language in Our Way of Thinking

0 20

When you live in the Philippines, especially in an area where the Filipino language is much more spoken than any other language and then you speak a different language, people will see you as different. When you start speaking English in that place, people will see you as someone in a higher class or when you speak another native language, they will judge you and they will think that you're cursing at them. It depends on the way of thinking of the person around you.

Even though many creatures communicate in their own ways, humanity is the only one who has achieved intellectual likely to be expressed. It is what distinguishes us as individuals. Humans are the only ones who actually have the ability to have their own language. If we are to look at the idea of evolution, people before don't really utter words. We still have news where there are people who don't want communication with the outside world so researchers say that they use "words" for whom they are the only ones who understand.

Language is the means through which individuals connect. It enables us to communicate our ideas, emotions, and emotions to everyone else. But also expressions come in the way. We don't easily say words without the proper tone. You can't really say you're being generous or appreciative when you are speaking too loud unless you're far from each other.

Language comes effortlessly to the majority of individuals. Even until we can speak, we learn how to interact. I remember when my little brother starts to understand things and play with toys, he wouldn't talk. There are times that he would say something but we don't really understand it. At first, we thought that there is something wrong with him because we know that kids his age are most likely to say at least the basics like "mama" but he wouldn't. We even blame the television show, Mr. Bean, because the first episodes of that animated series are really just quiet. As I listen closely to what he's trying to say before when I asked him a question, I realized something. The language he speaks in English and not Filipino, that's why it's hard for us to understand what he's trying to say. It is also a difficult thing to understand that a Filipino baby would speak a different language when we don't even use that language on a daily basis. Our initial thought is maybe because his daily television shows are Disney shows so maybe he adopted the cartoons' way of speaking and language. At the same time, we actually felt proud since, at a young age, he is able to pick up a lesson that he alone understood without anyone teaching him.

As we get closer to retirement, we discover how to use communication to genuinely represent what we need and as we get closer to retirement, we discover how to use communication to genuinely represent what we need and to express with phrases and complicated phrases.

In a cultural aspect, language creates bonds. Language is among the most challenging hurdles that individuals from different ethnic origins confront while interacting. Identity and culture are highly influenced by a variety of circumstances. Grammatical competence allows one to instantly recognize those who share a common language. This is why misinterpretation in a debate isn't a good thing and will result in a bad ending. When the other person or individual misinterprets the other person's speech, it would be hard for both of them to analyze and process their communication.

Linguistics not only helps to maintain civilizations, but it also enables everyone to gain knowledge about everything and easily disseminate concepts. People all communicate effectively at various rates, and seeing when a youngster begins to use dialect might indicate how they'll be progressing. Every person is a member of a monolithic bloc. A kid's vocabulary, for example, differs from an adult's speech. Language, traditions, clothing, technology, ideas, and morals are all factors that connect individuals together. Language is by far the most culturally significant signifier instrument.

Languages do not hinder our capacity to see or view things; instead, they shift our focus and mind to certain areas of the environment.

Language doesn't really totally control our thoughts but it may impact our patterns of thought and conduct. There are several more instances of how language affects perception, such as gender and describing events.

It is much safer to say that when you start to speak in a different language, you are more likely to learn about their culture and behavior. I know most people who speak English who are residing in the Philippines are looked at as if their intelligence is much higher than more people. But then again, I can't say that most of them are really intelligent. However, in most people's perspective, they are smart. The point is that people use their knowledge in the English language as if brings smarter thinking to them. They abuse the idea that a child must learn the English language in order to be looked at as an intelligent person. I have seen many videos on the internet where people speak the English language but have a bad manner towards other people and the situation itself.
