Quality before Quantity

I have been binged watching a lot of Gordon Ramsay shows throughout the school works that I do because his accent and yelling are actually soothing to my ears. It might not sound right but it keeps me focused with something in the background.

But as I take a break from my works, I noticed many things about how he is as a chef in both Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares.

One thing is passion. When you do something that you love, you know you can't put something up with zero finesse. You will always pinpoint even the smallest detail because you want everything to be perfect. That's what I have noticed when I started to finish out the project that I worked on. The small details like the position of an image, the height and width of a box and even how properly linear-gradient colors are equally distributed for a website, I want everything to be good to look at. Same thing in life. When you clean your room and you clean it for the sake that you want everything to be organized and properly placed, you will notice gaps inch by inch. However, if you just clean it without the energy of having it cleaned, it will not come out as clean. Passion comes with love. You can't say that you are an expert in a profession without putting in the best effort into every detail that you do.

Thinking about money can be the root of many mistakes. When you are in the restaurant industry and you are concerned about how many pieces of shrimps every customer must get and not on how the food will taste good, you can't be in the food industry. It is hard for people to understand that if a customer likes your product, even if he will not come back to buy one more, the word of mouth that he will do will attract more customers. It might even be put on the news for tourists to try.

Perfection is everything. Even if there is a saying that "Nobody's perfect.", you must always thrive for perfection. It will be hard to achieve but if you put the effort and passion to drive that car, you will reach your destination. I have seen people who became so professional in their work because they always practice and they are concerned to bring out the best skill they can give. Some people fail in their choice of the field because all they think of is the reward they want after their work. Although at some point, we are not experiencing the same situation, some people live in the most dangerous way possible, some are in the middle who are "okay" in life and some people are living comfortably, we must always think of what will benefit us and will also benefit the others.

As Ramsay said in one episode of Hell's Kitchen Season 19, "Make love to your food.". There is much advice that Ramsay has given contestants in his show but that is one of the best ones so far. The fact that he was pointing out a chef for doing a dish so fast to the point he failed in his first challenge, but at the same time, he was advising him to become a better version of himself by tomorrow, is always a good motivation.

The quality of work is always what people look at. It is where the value of something is born. This is why the dead people with works who touched the lives of many people like Stan Lee are still being loved and remembered is because he cared about his work and the people around him.
