My cousin is now an Engineer. *Hello, read family! I apologize for not being able to post an update for almost a week.* *I've had a busy and grueling week because of all the schoolwork and the final exam we had yesterday. We are overjoyed that the Lord heard our prayers for Angel to pass the Civil Engineering Licensure Exam. She truly deserved to pass because we are aware of how hard she worked on it and how many nights she scarcely slept due to the review. When the results of the prior CELE 2022 were released on the morning of November 29, we immediately began looking for Angel's name. We all broke down in tears of joy when we found her name among those who passed the exam. We are just so delighted for her because of her accomplishment that we are unable to put into words how we feel at that moment. I quickly messaged her to congratulate her and this was her reply to me. Her response made me more emotional and made me feel like I was an engineer too. When she said, "*Ikaw na next*" **(You're next)**, I was overjoyed because it seemed like she was giving me the "engineer spirit" and I also got the impression that she trusted me just as much as we did. Blowout Celebration They were shocked to find their engineer daughter had returned home because she had unexpectedly flown home from Manila, and her mother had no idea she would. And on December 11th, she had a huge party to celebrate, and several of our family members attended to give her their congratulations. She was frequently questioned about her average and the most challenging exam question. And of course, our grandmothers are equally overjoyed and extremely proud of their engineer granddaughter. Angel is the fourth Engineer among our cousins ​​and I am the one they expect to follow in her footsteps because I'm also a civil engineering student. Due to their expectations, I feel a little under pressure as well, but I'll try my hardest to fulfill them and become a true engineer. The fact that so many people will congratulate me and be proud of my accomplishments makes me feel good as well. Forgiven but never forgotten. People often say that money is the root of all evil, and perhaps it is true that even our relatives might make poor decisions because to it. Everything is drastically different when it comes to talking about money, including one's outlook, behavior, and self-perception, as well as one's willingness to act badly despite knowing that doing so will hurt other people's feelings. Because of what our relatives did, we felt so much heartaches and anger. We don't even know what we did wrong for them to treat us this way; we don't know why they did it for all these years. It's difficult to forgive them for what they did since it's heartbreaking and makes me cry. *So last June, Lolo Ambling came to our house to talk about the passageway to our house. He is quite a distant relative of ours because my great grandmother and her mother are siblings, so he is like my distant grandfather. Their house is also close to us, about 2 minutes away*. *He informed us that he intended to sell us the passageway and that he would widen it by 2 meters to allow space for my grandfather's trike to pass. We questioned why he would sell the road given that it is our "right of way" and that my grandmother has a claim to it because my great-grandmother and his mother are related.* *As you can see from the map of the road that leads to us that there is only one pathway that we can use to get to the main road and to get through. This pathway is only broad enough for motorcycles and people to pass through; a car or tricycle would not be able to fit through it because it is barely 1.5 meters wide.* *He is selling the road to us for 60,000 pesos or $1000 since he wants to widen it by 2 meters, making it 3.5 meters wide and allowing my grandfather's tricycle to pass through. He claimed that he would not permit us to purchase just 1.5 meters because, had we done so, he would have had to close the road.* *Our family and our neighbors have already discussed how we will share the cost and whether we will actually buy the pathway. We are one of three of our neighbors who do not want to buy since it is our "right of way," and Lolo Ambling previously assured us that we may pass through here because my grandmother have payed the surveyor to survey our lot and this pathway and Lolo Ambling is aware of it.* And now, the pathway is closed. The passageway where I've been walking for 23 years, this is the way that connects us as relatives but now it's closed and what they did is very painful. They did something that has left our family, as well as our neighbors, feeling quite hurt and disappointed. Due to the previous promises made by Lolo Ambling, which we believed, our family and our neighbors opted not to purchase the road. Another thing is that we have a legal claim to this route as well, and we hope he would reconsider. But now it's closed and there's nothing we can do, we don't want to complain to the Barangay because we have nothing against their family because they have ties to the Barangay Captain. We also found out that Lolo Ambling's children incited him to do this to us. While we were sobbing from the pain they caused us, they still held a family meeting after closing the pathway. They appeared to be pleased with what they had done. The way we see their family has truly changed. They were once seen as good individuals, but after what they did, I no longer share that opinion. I do believe in karma and I don't hold grudges against their family, but what they did to my family left a wound in my heart. As a result of what they did, they began to treat us somewhat differently, making us feel like outcasts. Despite the fact that I have forgiven them, I will never forget what they did to us. A hectic, yet productive day Greetings, read family! How are you? What are you doing this week or today? Are you like me who have spent a few days working extra hours on school projects? As a graduating student, there are many things to be busy with in and obligations at school that must be fulfill. Me and my classmates are occupied day and night by the graduation requirements, which includes the Thesis, OJT Report, passing all the exams and quizzes, and other assignments. We will graduate this third week of December, but there won't be a graduation ceremony because we're already behind schedule and got a one- semester extension to pass a subject and complete our research paper. We are regarded as graduates and are eligible to receive TOR in January, but the only disappointing thing about it is that we were unable to experience marching in our graduation. And of course, since we already took an extra semester, we don't want to do so again; instead, we want to graduate and then sit for the board exam next year. Since the deadline of the manuscript for our research paper was yesterday and there are still some revision to be made, we were really busy yesterday to finish it. **What I did and the situation I was in all day** I worked on our paper and being in front of the laptop for numerous hours. Our research is nearly 90% complete, but we must still check to make sure that everything is in order and nothing wrong will be seen once we present. I skipped breakfast and ate lunch at around 1 o'clock since I had to finish what I was doing. I must have been dehydrated because from six in the morning until one in the afternoon, I only drank one glass of water. We genuinely share the work, and all of my groupmates are nice and helpful. We are truly working together to complete our research and make a successful final defense. ****Students busy working on their research paper.**** The majority of the people in this room yesterday were glued to their laptops, editing research papers in preparation for a defense that will take place today. We have a little more time to prepare and memorize what we need to say because we are the last group to defend. The manuscript was all we worked yesterday, as the deadline was at six o'clock in the evening. Even though there was a very long line at the Computer shop of another group that was also printing their manuscript, we happily made it on time. We still have time to organize our PowerPoint presentation that will be utilized to present in the final defense as our group's defense is still scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. **Finished the task; now it's time to go home.** I got home around 7:30 p.m. because of the heavy rain and challenge of finding a ride at night. I quickly drank a lot of water after arriving home because I was quite thirsty, and then I lay down for a while before having dinner. I was extremely exhausted all day, but I'm glad we finished the manuscript and turned it on time. This Friday, we will take a break before resuming our PowerPoint presentation over the weekend. Hopefully, our final defense will be a success, and our papers will only require minor revisions. **Final Thoughts** *Before you graduate, things won't be as simple as you thought they would be since you'll face numerous difficult circumstances. Am I part of their group? Every person has a reliable "friend" they can turn to for support, someone they can confide in when they are having a difficulty, someone they can hang out with when they are alone, and someone they can trust to give them sound counsel. I'm the kind of guy who is easy to get along with, approachable, and friendly, and if you ever come to me, you won't ever be written off. Since I am not the snobbish or easily angered type of person, I always make friends quickly when I transfer to a new school. Having a friend is similar to having someone you can rely on; they are the people you can think of as the most precious gems to you. Having friends at high school or college adds fun and color to your journey because you can enjoy high school or college life more at this point. Friends that you treat like brothers/sisters and who you always agree with. However, when I actually thought about it, I became perplexed and asked, "Do I really belong in their group of friends?" I'm not sure how I got to this point, but perhaps it was because of what they had shown me that had influenced my thoughts. So here's a little story time.. In high school, I had a group of friends that I would categorize as the best kind of friends; because we shared practically the same interests, we got along well in many aspects of life and our friendship grew even closer. My friends couldn't find the course they wanted here, and I was the only one left, so we ended up attending different colleges this year. And as I've already mentioned, making friends comes naturally to me. I even managed join this particular group of friends, to which I now feel a sense of belonging. Three people make up this friendship circle, and I know they have a close link because they have all attended the same senior high school and high school classes together. The two of them are people I already know because we were classmates in elementary school and were close then, so I believe that our friendship hasn't changed. I'm in my 4th year of college now and it means I've been with them for four years and consider them to be my friends. But why do I still feel like I don't fit in their group, and why do they seem to treat me differently than our other friends? Although I have grown to be a good friend and I am aware that this feeling is really juvenile, I can't help but feel sad about it. These are the reasons, in my opinion, for why I don't feel like they treat me like I belong in their circle of friends. **1. I am the last to be told** For instance, if they have something to do or a plan to do, I am the last person they will talk to or tell me about their plan, and since they already have one, I will just go along with it. **2. They act unconcerned** When there is an event at school or if I don't have transportation, I merely notice from them that even if they chat or text with me, "where am I?" or "what happened to me and I'm not there yet?" I have not received any messages from them expressing concern for me. Despite the fact that I tell them that my head hurts, they either don't respond or don't care. **3. Ignored Message** When I have a question for them or I have an important message for them, they don't immediately answer or reply to my message. I know that they have seen my message because the check on the messenger is grayed out, indicating that they have read my message on their chat heads and decided to ignore it. This is the point at which I am most hurt. I'm not sure why I constantly feel wounded whenever they do this to me, even though I know that it's not a true test of friendship and that they still regard me as a friend. Celebrating the 1st Birthday of our dogs We had a happy year because these two dogs came to us. After our 7-year-old dog Tamtam was killed in an accident, they gave us energy once more. Our dear pet, who was with us for seven years, passed away, and we are terribly sad and weep. We thought of him as a buddy and a younger brother, so when we learned that he had been killed by a truck, we were devastated. It was October 25, 2021 when something we didn't expect happened to our pet dog Tamtam. He enjoys exploring, and due to his advanced age, it appears like he has whites in his eyes. When this accident occurred, I had just returned from getting vaccinated so I didn't see him in the morning that's why I'm so depressed. After eating, someone called our dad, and that's when our hearts started pounding quickly.When a neighbor called dad and said, "Jay, your dog was hit by a truck," mom hurried to find out what had happened to Tamtam and discovered that his leg had been shattered and that he had also suffered a head injury from being trapped in the car. trucks. Tamtam was crying, according to Mama, and it was like saying farewell; we avoided looking at him since we were so sorry and crying at the time. And then, after a month of grieving and daily tears because we miss our dog so much, these two dogs arrived and rekindled the spirit of our family. Kobe was given to us by our uncle on November 25 in the morning, and Trixie was given to us by a neighbor in the late afternoon. Although we are thrilled to have dogs to care for once more, my dad first resisted since he was still scarred by what happened to Tamtam. Finally, there are dogs running and playing in our house once again, which makes our family extremely happy. Since their fur is so soft, we always pet them because they were so cute and chubby when they first came to live with us. We really adore these dogs and have shown it by giving them a lot of attention. I named Kobe because I feel that the name suits him, my sister wanted to change it to Coco but my mom said Kobe sounds better haha. My dad named Trixie, because she was our first female dog and we didn't know much about a female dog name and luckily my dad had a suggestion and it was "Trixie". Even though they are grown, we still treat them like babies. They want to sleep near to us or wa to be held by us. We just chuckled because they truly resembled babies, and we even sang them to sleep. We still treat them like babies even if they are grown. They either want to sleep right near to us or want to be held when they sleep. They were actually rather like babies, so we just laughed and even sang them to sleep. Our happiness is especially evident when they first see us since they have matured into kind and loving dogs. when we leave the house, we get the impression that they miss us so much that they pounce on us when we go home. We also celebrated the anniversary of their adoption into our family yesterday, November 25, 2022. Because it was the day they moved in with our family, this served as their birthday. During the entire year that we lived with them, pleasure and joy flooded our entire home. So we celebrated their birthdays as a way of saying "thank you" for coming into our lives. As birthday food, we grilled barbecue, smoked longganisa, and served hotdogs. Their birthday cake was the banana cake I made the last time. Since barbecue is one of our dog's favorite foods, we made it our priority to cook it for them. By doing so, we showed them how much we cared and that the food was intended specifically for them. It looks like Kobe is enjoying his birthday hat haha, but it's still very difficult for him to get a good picture. Trixie, on the other hand, doesn't really like having her picture taken. Despite my best efforts to capture a decent shot of her, nothing really worked because she was moving too much. My first ever made Banana cake Our family turned an empty piece of property owned by my grandmother into a garden where we raise fruits and vegetables including bananas, lansones, pomelo, rambutan, and cacao. And last week my mom harvested bananas, and it appears that there is more fruit this month than in the past. We also gave the others away, but we still have a lot of bananas left over, and because there are so many of them, we can't eat them all, so the rest are rotting. The bananas my mother had picked were about to spoil and we wouldn't be able to utilize them, so we came up with a plan to preserve them so that we could eat them within the next few days. The variety of banana we planted is called "*Bungulan*," and it only turns green when fully ripe and is more aromatic than the common banana, or "*Latundan*." If you notice, there are black spots on the end of the banana and its color is turning a little yellow, this indicates that it is very ripe and about to rot. And we've already made the decision to make banana cake with the overripe bananas. First, I looked up the ingredients and directions for making it. I also watched YouTube videos/tutorials so that even if I make it for the first time, it would still be delicious and well-done. Because my mom was rushing to make the banana cake because we were hungry and this was our snack, I forgot to take a picture of the ingredients. As a result, I'm going to list every ingredient based on what I looked up on YouTube. The ingredients we need are; 8 pcs Banana (smashed) 1 ½ cups evaporated milk 2 cups Brown Sugar 2 Eggs 2 ½ cups All purpose flour 1 tbsp Baking Soda 1 tbsp Baking Powder ½ cup Oil ½ cup Butter 1 tbsp Vanilla extract We began by smashing a banana and then thoroughly refining it. Eggs, evaporated milk, oil, and butter were the wet ingredients that we used next. Before combining it with the preceding wet ingredients, we sifted 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp baking soda, and 1 tbsp baking powder in a bowl. After that, we added sugar and vanilla essence to create a sweet and aromatic banana cake. And that's how the batter for our banana cake appeared. We were pleased because it resembled the batter we saw on YouTube tutorial exactly. We considered including chocolate chips, but because my dad and brother don't like them, we decided to create a Plain Banana Cake instead. Since we don't have an oven, we just steam our banana cake for 45 minutes, or until it turns fluffy and no batter remains on it when tested with a toothpick, indicating that it is cooked. Based on the ratio of the ingredients we used, we made three Banana cake molds. And this banana cake is the second one we've made since my mom ate the first one right away because she really liked its aroma. The side of our Banana Cake mold was a little flattened because it didn't fit in the steamer, so we just made a way to make it that way. That's it, it's so simple! Christmas decorations in our Town And there's really nothing we can do to stop the holiday season from starting; did you realize that Christmas is only 33 days away? Yes, the most delightful day of the year will be celebrated once more in just 33 days, or about a month now. Isn't it exciting? We see decorations everywhere we go, which is one of the things that makes the Christmas season so enjoyable and unforgettable. There's colorful Christmas lights strung outside the window, we can see the tallest Christmas Trees and the enormous "Parols" will undoubtedly always be a part of our Filipino Christmas decorations. Every year during the first week of December, our town celebrates the lighting of the Christmas tree, and it has since become a custom in all of our communities. As a result, each community puts on a fantastic display of decorations, and the lighting of the Christmas tree is always the highlight of the event. And our town has already begun to decorate, with Christmas decorations being placed throughout, beginning at the entrance of the square and moving to the Municipality. Many students are also waiting in the plaza to see what the town's decorations would be themed on this year. Most viewers hold cellphones in their hands and capture lovely pictures of the hanging decorations. The first thing you'll notice when standing in front of the marble name of "Odiongan" in front of the square is the Christmas decorations inspired by the image of the church. They stated it was only the second day they were painting and mending decorations in our plaza, so it wasn't finished when I took this picture. As you can see, they have only begun to decorate the Christmas tree, but you can already tell that the finished product will be incredibly stunning and colorful. They also create a Christmas tree with notable window decorations, and it is at that point that we can tell it is also religiously inspired by the church. You'll also walk through a large heart-shaped entrance as you get close to the statue of Dr. Jose Rizal. No matter where you go, you will always exit and enter through this enormous heart-shaped entry because there is another Heart entrance on the opposite side. In order to make every corner of our plaza even more lovely and picture-perfect, they are still decorating and have promised to add lights and flowers to the sides. I can't wait until they're done decking out the entire town plaza for Christmas. Civil Engineering Licensure Exam 2022 Before I even started writing this, I suddenly started crying. I'm not sure what caused it; it may have been excitement, sadness, joy, or some emotion that I can't put my finger on. Why do I feel this way, even though I'm not the one taking the exam. I get thrilled with the outcome and I'm excited that being a licensed engineer is a possibility for everyone who passes this year. Perhaps this is how it feels to be an Engineering student as you anticipate every examinee's successful results. 109 of my seniors in our school are taking their Board Exam today, November 19-20, 2022, and I believe many of them are already anxious about the possible outcome of the exam and the answers they provided. But I am aware that each of them has been concentrating on their review since May, and I am aware of their perseverance in pursuing their desired title, the "Engr" before their name. I get emotional because.. One out of the thousands of people who will take the board exam today is my cousin; she is the eldest in their family, and I am aware of all the struggles she overcame to fulfill her life goals. My first cousin Angel was one of the people I prayed that would passed the licensure exam. She retook the exam after failing the first time because she neglected to study properly while taking caring her father after he had a stroke and working part-time first as the family's breadwinner. Her mother took care of his father who had a stroke before she returned to the review center in May. Her father's condition is gradually getting better, so I am confident that my cousin is at ease and can concentrate well on her review. Being the eldest in the family can be challenging because you are the first person your family looks to for success and assistance. Even though I'm not the eldest, I can see the strain and pressure my sister puts on our family, so I constantly chat her if she's alright to let her know how much we care about her. **Final Thoughts** *Before we can accomplish what we want in life, we must endure numerous challenges. These tests will determine how committed we are to achieving our goals, so let's not give up right away and just keep going. Springapple did the "Pie in the Face Challenge". I never would have imagined that I would be a part of one of the funniest, most thrilling, and unexpected ****"Pie in the Face challenge".**** I had no idea that my competitive nature in every task would lead me to this one, haha. It's ironic to consider that, despite of all of my experience, this "Pie in the face challenge" is something I never done before and you'll be the first to see my pie-covered face, lol. So this is what happened, if you're wondering how I got into this challenge. Accordingly, @Coolmidwestguy posted on noise.app about the challenge he intends to do and asked for volunteers to participate in it. The volunteers would then be mentioned in his article. As for me, I'm always up for a challenge and I think that his challenge is interesting and fun, so I commented right away without knowing what kind of challenge it was. Like the other participants, I also commented with my username. Purchasing and Preparing the ingredients In order to start the challenge, I first went to the grocery store to purchase "whipped cream," one of the key ingredients. When I went to the first store, there was only all-purpose cream; I didn't see any whipped cream there. So I went to the bakery instead, and there was whipped cream there, and they said it was the only one, so I bought it right away. I simply take the appropriate quantity of Whippit whipped cream, mix it till it turns fluffy, and then I'll smack it on my face haha. Doing the Challenge So now I'm going to start doing the "Pie in the face challenge". Are you ready to see my face covered with pie? lol At first, I was quite hesitant because I worried that my face might appear odd, which would be embarrassing. However, since this is a challenge, I must proceed. As you can see in the video, I'm still laughing, which only proves how much I enjoyed the challenge. It's sweet, but I can really feel how sticky my face is, and because the other cream bonded to my hair, my hair also turned sticky, which is funny. How can I get rid of these tiny bumps on my forehead? Our face is one of the body parts that we care for. Perhaps a large number of us actually invest the time in our skincare regimens and purchases the required skincare items. I am one of you; I was only 16 when I discovered how to take care of my face since, when you are in the puberty stage, pimples emerge as a result of our hormones changing. I purchased items like whitening soap and soap that fights acne. So far, the results have been positive. DSWD cash assistance Date: Saturday. 20th of August 2022 When Sec. Erwin Tulfo declared to the public that the DSWD would be distributing educational monetary support, everyone was startled. He claimed that applicants for financial aid can be elementary, high school, or college students. Amounts ranging from 1,000 to 4,000 pesos will be given to all qualified students from elementary to college. Elementary - 1000 pesos High School - 2000 pesos Senior High School - 3000 pesos College - 4000 pesos The qualified students, according to Sec. Erwin Tulfo, are working students, single parents or children of single parents, breadwinners, student children of OFWs, and students who have been afflicted by the disaster. There are only two items you need to bring: a photocopy of your registration form from the school you attend and a back-to-back scan or photocopy of your valid school ID. Just yesterday, we instantly took care of the prerequisites for DSWD's educational assistance applications. Just in case, we printed two copies of the enrollment form and the student ID. My companions and I discussed the importance of arriving in line early because we know that there's a lot of students who will apply too and that the line would be lengthy. And it turns out that our hunch about the line's length was accurate. Even though it was only six in the morning, the line had already gotten so long that it almost reached our school. We were in the middle of the line, which was extremely congested, and I could hardly breathe. This morning's sight is practically impossible for automobiles to navigate due to the large crowds. Thankfully, there are police officers on duty who manage the situation by enforcing crowd control and clearing parked motorcycles off the road to avoid obstructing traffic. People of all ages and PWDs are lining up to apply for the DSWD's educational monetary aid. We all patiently wait in line since it is very beneficial to ourselves, our families, and our academic endeavors. An announcement was made at around seven in the morning by a DSWD employee who was holding a megaphone. According to him, they can only hold up to 100 people at once. They also gave out numbers, and those who received one could wait; however, those without one were sent home because they wouldn't accept them either. We had given up and were about to head home, but a my friend urged us to stay because we had arrived early and they had stated that the DSWD office is open until five o'clock, meaning that we might be accommodated after they finish with the first 100 people in line. And our suspicions turned out to be correct. Around eleven in the morning, when the first 100 participants had finished, a DSWD employee returned and again provided the number. I am number 96 and am extremely glad because I know that my hunger and exhaustion were worth it because I was fortunate enough to make it to the second 100 people who would be given the opportunity to apply for cash assistance. I wasn't able to eat breakfast or lunch, so I was quite hungry. Fortunately, a mother was there and she provided us with biscuits and water after sensing our hunger. I am very grateful to her. It's Graduation Day but I'm not graduating. One of our goals as college students may be to graduate on time, participate in the graduation ceremony with our parents, and graduate together with our friends. However, trials will inevitably arise and stand in the way of our goals. These trials may be for our own personal growth and improvement as students, or they may be there because we aren't yet ready to graduate and need more time to get ready for whatever our future holds. Three weeks prior to our school's graduation, I had seen a lot of images of graduates wearing gowns and caps posted on social media platforms which contains a lengthy captions thanking those who assisted them in obtaining their diploma. The moment I saw their posts, it got me to thinking: "What if I were like them, where I could graduate on time? Maybe I'm just as happy as them and just as what's in their post. Maybe I have a lot to be thankful for." And the thing that scares me the most is how my parents will react when they learn that their daughter won't graduate quite yet. Will they be upset or furious? But I do know that they will be delighted and gratified just like other parents, if only I could graduate on time like other students. Given that they supported me financially and emotionally for a number of years and persisted in exerting all of their effort only so that I could attend school. *So this is the only response I can give if you ask me how I feel about graduation.* I'm sad about it. If you were in my position, perhaps you would have the same emotions. I have a sense that the difficulties we have faced will prevent us from experiencing the graduation day we're looking forward to. It makes me sad to think that some of my high school friends or classmates will graduate while I'm just standing here looking at them singing their graduation song and wishing them a happy graduation. I envy them. It's normal to feel envious, right? Seeing them wearing graduation gowns and cap makes me feel envious, maybe I'm just as thrilled and happy if I only I could graduate this year. I'm envious of them because their parents are happy and proud for them to graduate, and I'm envious of them because they will be able to march to graduation with their parents, something that only happens once in a lifetime and which I won't be able to experience since I'm graduating this December and there won't be a graduation ceremony. I'm happy for others. I'm happy for them because they were able to graduate and did their parents proud. They have put in a lot of effort over a long period of time, so when I see them smiling and beaming with excitement, it makes me happy. Perhaps now isn't the appropriate moment for me, so as long as that moment hasn't arrived for me, I will continue to celebrate other people's accomplishments and offer them my support since they deserve all of the award and recognition that is shown to them. When the time comes for me to graduate, I'm sure that just like the other parents, my mom, dad and my family will be proud of me. Maybe this is my lot in life, but it won't stand in the way of my ambition to become a licensed civil engineer. Road trip around Tablas Romblon Hola! I haven't been here in a week, so I'm eager to share with you what I've accomplished. By the way, how are you guys doing? I hope you're doing well, and I'm looking forward to reading your writings! Last week, my friend and I decided to take a tour here in different towns of Romblon. Since, our Province is an entire island, we can easily travel around other towns using only our motor. Our island is visited by many tourist and one of the things they enjoy doing here is taking a day trip around the entire island. Banton, Simara, Sibuyan, Romblon, and Tablas are the other five small islands that make up Romblon. The biggest island, Tablas, is home to 9 different municipalities. We reside in Odiongan Romblon, one of the nine municipalities of Tablas. So let's get back to our original topic, which was our recent road trip adventure. Before anything else, the first thing we need is a motorbike to tour the island and a helmet for protection. Because if we don't have them, we risk being stopped by LTO and fined, we must all wear helmets and have valid licenses for the person operating the vehicle. It's great that we get our licenses as soon as possible in January so we can travel whenever we want without worrying about the LTO, hehe. The town of Ferrol, where the stunning beach known as Binucot Beach Resort is located, was the first destination we visited. Due to its extraordinarily fine sand and breathtaking surroundings, it is one of the well-known beach resorts in Romblon. Our journey from Odiongan town to Binucot beach should take us 40 to 50 minutes, according to my estimation. Google Maps estimates the distance via Tablas Circumferential Road to be 38.9 kilometers from Odiongan. The meandering nature of the road makes riding a motorcycle more enjoyable than using a vehicle or van, which can make the journey a little disorienting. We first spent an hour at the resort and got a drink to keep us hydrated for the duration of the day trip before continuing our drive around Tablas. The view you see here is incredibly calming and stress-relieving because the sea fragrance is so pleasant to the nose and listening to the waves made me feel serene in my thoughts. This beach only charges a 100 peso admission fee, and you are free to stay there whenever you want. The resort's personnel is also incredibly courteous and polite, and they go above and beyond to ensure that you have a wonderful time while staying there. Indeed, our province is tremendously endowed with stunning beauty, and we ought to feel chuffed and arrogant about it. Before visiting other regions of the country, I still have a lot of unexplored locations here with us that I will make sure I visit. We've traveled for an hour from Ferrol Romblon, covering a distance of 40.8 kilometers on the regional highway tablas encircling road, before reaching Santa Maria Romblon. We first stopped and snapped pictures of the breathtaking locations around because our butt was a little uncomfortable from the lengthy journey and hours of sitting. The towns we travelled through on the way to Santa Maria are shown on the map I created. Even though it is really exhausting, our tour of the island which covers over half of it has been so much fun. Our road trip began at nine in the morning, and by the time we arrived at our destination at six in the evening, I was so exhausted that I skipped dinner and instead just rested before falling asleep. The experience we had and the stunning locations we saw made the effort and fuel we expended worthwhile. In part two of this article, I'll carry on with our journey. Harvesting our Rambutan and Lansones fruit *Greetings, friends! Do you enjoy growing your own fruits and vegetables? also, do you currently have any plants in your yard? What exactly are they, and why did you decide to plant them?* *I asked you this question because I will be discussing this subject with you today. Some of the advice I'll provide may be useful to you if you intend to plant fruits or vegetables in the future.* *Without any further ado, I'll begin now*. My dad has a genuine enthusiasm for gardening, which I have known since I was a young child. Having all the fruits and vegetables we require in our garden prevents us from going to the market very often. He spends approximately six hours a day visiting his favorite plants and fruits because gardening and planting trees has become one of his favorite past times. My dad planted trees when each of his children was born, according to what our mother informed us, so some of the trees were planted around the time that we were. Dad planted lansones when my sister was born, followed by another planting of lansones near our home when I was born, and finally, another rambutan tree when our youngest sister was born. During the same period that my sister was born my dad planted this lansones tree, so this tree is about 28 years old now. Dad planted a tree at the same time as our births in the hopes that my brother and I wouldn't fight when it ripened and bore fruit. Dad may have been joking, but I doubt that was his genuine motivation for saying that to us lol. And this is the Lansones tree that my father planted when I was born, making it also 22 years old. It would take the Lansones tree 10 years to produce fruit, according to dad's estimation of the fruit of the trees. I can still clearly recall how it actually flourished and produced fruit when I turned 10 years old. We were ecstatic at the moment because of the Lansones plant my dad had planted. Due to the modest size of our yard, my dad only planted two lansones trees. But in addition to lansones, we also have mango, banana, avocado, and pomelo trees, among many others. We are all pleased when the fruits that papa planted begin to bear fruit because it is exciting and fun when you pluck the fruit. This is the rambutan tree, which was also planted at the same time as the birth of our youngest sister and is now 20 years old. We actually look forward to the rambutan and lansones tree that my dad planted which bears fruit every June or July. You can see that this rambutan tree is loaded with fruit, making it very attractive to look at, especially from underneath where you can truly see many of the fruit. Finally, we gathered some fruits for consumption. First, we only grabbed a small amount—just enough for our snacks—because if we took them all, they may decay and rot, rendering them useless for consumption or other purposes. We also don't sell our fruits; instead, we simply give it to our neighbors and anyone else who asks for it. Because, according to my father, when we know how to give, the fruit grows more fruit. Therefore, when they learned that the time had come for our rambutan and lansones fruit to begin bearing fruit once more, our neighbors were equally joyful. We're glad to be of assistance, even in this small way. When we plant lansones and rambutan trees, my father taught me these techniques: Always check the soil to see whether it is dry, and if it is, water the area again to bring back the soil's normal moisture level. Second, dad doesn't use chemical fertilizers either. Instead, he uses organic fertilizer by burying the skins of fruits and vegetables, such as potatoes, in the tree roots, or he may use cow manure. Last but not least, my dad prunes a few of the tree's other branches to make it more leafy and produce more fruit. There's a thief roaming around our town! We all save or keep money for our future needs or for our regular household expenses. Money is one of the most important things to us since it allows us to purchase essentials such as food, drink, clothing, and other items. So what happens if your hidden funds vanish overnight? What will your reaction be? Isn't it excruciating? The story got around our community the other day that there were thieves who broke into the residence every 1:00-2:00 a.m. in the morning. Someone allegedly said that the thief was roaming around the town, visiting every barangay and selecting a house to rob. ****Translation:**** *People of Libertad or the nearby barangay's, let's all be careful, especially those with sliding windows, be doubly careful. what happened to us will serve as a lesson. hide all the important things. As a result, she issued an instant warning and reminder to all residents to always be cautious and to lock their doors and windows every night. She's now also cooperating with the police to help find and apprehend criminals who break into and steal from homes. This robbery incident is extremely frightening and upsetting, particularly because many people have already been robbed and many more could be robbed if the perpetrator is not apprehended. So, you'll need to be extra cautious and vigilant especially with the people you've just met and the people you've let into the house. First Week of On the Job Training Greetings to everyone! How are you? Was this a productive week for you? I hope you all are doing well, and don't forget to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water! I'm currently doing on-the-job training at the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), and it's been a week since we started, so now I want to share with you my experience here in the office. Monday Even though it was only our first day, everyone of us was handed projects right away. We were each given Barangay projects because there is a lot of work here at the workplace and to make things easier, me and my OJT colleagues will prepare plans and design. I was assigned to do the design, plan, and estimate of this covered court to be built in Barangay Mayha. The design they requested were quite detailed, so I requested references to previous covered court projects. Because there are so many things that need to be done, I believe I'll be able to do it in two weeks. So far, I've enjoyed my first day thanks to the insight of the Engineer assigned to this office. She is very accommodating and assists us when we have queries about the project's budget, design, or materials. TUESDAY Yey! It's our second day of being an OJT trainee, and we're getting used to our surroundings, but conversing with other employees is still hard. We're heading to a commercial building under construction in San Andres today; it's a little out of the way, so we're taking a van to the site. I was a little dizzy during the ride, so I brought some mint candies and sat on the windowed side of the van to get some fresh air and avoid becoming dizzy right immediately. When we arrived at the site, the foreman invited us in to inspect the interior design and see what needed to be modified or replaced. We returned to the office after our site inspection was over. WEDNESDAY It's been half a week! I'm also used to working from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., so I'm not late for our OJT. Even though I'm still quite drowsy at 6:00 a.m., I need to get up and take a bath in order to ready for work. We went to the Hanging Bridge project in Barangay Mayha, where we met their Barangay kagawad, ma'am Nena. She showed us the way, which was a bit of a bumpy path. We arrived safely and immediately headed to the suspension bridge to try to cross it. They're well-constructed, and crossing the bridge isn't too unsteady. We returned to the office right after our site visit to finish the other assignments we were assigned. The engineer corrected the AutoCAD drawing she created for me, stating that I would adjust the column sizes or specs on the beam. **THURSDAY** We're getting close to the weekend! We've been here for almost a week and have accomplished a lot, but our allocated barangay tasks have yet to be completed. Today, we didn't go on a site tour and instead focused on the duties we were assigned. I only need to export the perspective or structural design of the covered court to AutoCAD for the appropriate dimensions and more information of the full court structure. I still have a lot of work to do, but for now it's just first because the engineer said it's fine if it takes a while as long as we finish before our six weeks of on-the-job training. **FRIDAY** Finally, it's Friday! Every Friday, we must submit the status or report on the projects we have been allocated. The engineer is the woman in green who helps us figure out what's wrong with our work and what we need to modify or change in our designs. It's good that my design has only a few tweaks, so I'll be able to relax this weekend. They also gave us an assignment to do by Monday, but it was fine because it allowed us to learn a lot about our future job as **CIVIL ENGINEERS.** **Thank you for your time and interest in reading all the way to the very end of my article.
