Nabanna festival
There are many festivals related to agriculture in agricultural Bangladesh. Nabanna festival is one of them. Most of the people of Bangladesh are farmers. They soften the hard soil by their labor and energy and create a tide of life there. After an impossible toil with the sun and rain on their heads, when they can harvest the golden crop of the field, the joy of their souls is called for. Nabanna festival is a festival of joyous life. From the beginning of autumn, there was a rush of harvesting in every house in Bengal. At that time this folk festival was celebrated from house to house in village Bengal. Before dawn on the day of the festival, boys and girls came out of the house to cut the rhyme and control the crows. On this day, in the morning, there is a quota for new rice. No one eats until this ceremony is over. Prays to the Creator of the grain and eats breakfast after the nineteenth day. Gradually this folk festival gained popularity among all communities. At present the popularity of Nabanna festival has decreased a bit. We should preserve this folk tradition of Bengal and Bengali.
