I have been waiting five years for this game to be playable on emulator. In the last few months, great progress has been made in this games stability. It still crashes every so often, and at least one boss battle just soft locks every time I play. But for the most part the game is good to play with friends. I did have to restart the game as it froze a few times, so if you see missing footage its due to the game crashing.
Along with @activate.alpha aka Lovely Logic we try out some of the levels and play through the game. Our first mini game is Mega Goomba's Ladder Leap. Where we must climb ladders and then jump on the head of the Goomba. We practice before giving the mini game a try. Hah some of these games the first time I have no idea what to do.
Moving along the map we get some dice and then make our way to another mission but unfortunately the game crashes and I must restart.
I use a Dolphin bar to control the Wiimotes and its kinda shaky. Sometimes I have troubles selecting the characters. Playing the haunted level. Mario gets a special dice block and then another one got one too. We play a vs 4 map, the Cheep Cheep Leap minigame. Where we must hit fish as they jump over the platform we are on. First time I played this minigame it crashed, though luckily this time around it played through okay. As we move through the spots on the map we unlock Bowser and he steals coins from Yoshi. A Boo then steals the rest of the coins from Yoshi so they are in last place now with zero coins. Another special dice block is rewarded. And then we land on a Bowser spot, Yoshi has some really bad luck in this game. Though there were no coins to steal from Yoshi so instead Bowser gave him 10 coins..
Bowser is such a wildcard, landing on that spot can change the outcome of the game rapidly. Its alot of fun. And really glad the Cemu team got this game working. Thanks so much for all the devs working hard to resolve the issues making this game one that can be played on emulators now. It took five years but I think it was worth the wait, even though its not completely fixed yet.
