I'm fairly new and I really don't have any idea about crypto, so I will just write random stuff for the meantime.
Okay, let's talk about maintenance. From what I know, a high maintenance person is someone that needs a lot of stuff or has to do to maintain themselves. Might be from the hair, a weekly trip to the salon. From the skin, a huge bunch of moisturizers and some sorts. And or might be from the clothes they wear.
I have nothing against them to be clear, and I also can't relate.
Because I'm the cheapest ass person. I shampoo every other day, I use the cheapest bar soap in the aisle. I only buy clothing and footwear if the old one is beyond repair. Heck, I even still use my prescription glasses that have one handle missing. Because, why not, it's still usable.
Well that's maintenance for grown ups. But it's totally a different thing when it comes to babies.
Here we don't talk about the most expensive diaper, or the most expensive formula milk. We talk about the struggle of having one.
First off, my first baby clings like a koala. I thought my second one would be different (since not all babies are the same), but nope, she is too.
They are the type that don't sleep the day away in the crib. Me and my husband has to carry them in our arms day and night. No kidding.
The good thing is, I work from home. We also have no zoom call, there's no way for my colleague to know that I have a baby attached to me. I even mastered the one hand typing technique in the process.
Me and my hubby even joked that these two have an altitude meter. It sets off an alarm when their back is beginning to get close to the bed. Then boom, back to square one.
Second, they are very, and very sensitive to sounds. The slightest noise could disturb their sleep. Even whispering is a big no no. It came to a point where me and my husband unconsciously created our own sign language. We do sign language when the baby in question is fast asleep. It's funny when I think about it now.
Lastly, man, they don't want other people to carry them. It's just either me or my husband.
Sure, relatives come to visit. But they scream whenever someone else picks them up. And mind you, they don't cry uha uha, they scream like an abandoned kitten in the rain. I don't know why they cry like that. Maybe they know that I'm a cat person. Anything related to cats is close to my heart. It is actually effective since that kind of cry instantly triggers my momma instinct to immediately attend to them.
Seven years ago, it was overwhelming to me as a new parent. It was draining and I have no idea if I was doing the right thing. Parenting is not being taught in school. But as they say, it is hard, but it will get better. Not easier, but better.
My eldest daughter turned out to be sweet and loving. She's confident in herself that she makes friends so easily. There are times when she does something sweet or unforeseen goodness I feel proud of myself and think that we did a great job.
Thank you for reading my article. If you have something in mind, leave it in the comment section. I am more than happy to read it. Thank you, thank you.
I dunno, but I really love babies. I might be tempted to pinch their cheeks if I got to see them 😅. I guess, you did really great as a parent and I salute you for that ❤. P.S I am not also a high maintenace type of person. I dunno why.
