He saved me from fear

Hi everyone 👋

Today, I'm going to share with you what my friend Ricky said to me after I asked him for some advise about my fears in life. Well, it's completely personal and not a major issue, but I just told him these things to make myself feel better. This happened about two weeks ago on the plaza as we were chatting about nothing in particular until I finally opened myself to him. This is a recap of what he told me after I told him everything:

"You already know what you need to do to go on in your life, but you can't seem to do anything about it because you're afraid, right? Fear of failing, rejection, and being foolish are all fears that we people have. So, rather than taking action, you spend much of your 'time' getting ready, watching more videos, reading more articles, and asking a lot of your friends Sj. Months, if not years, go by with nothing happening. There is never any development. But Sj, fear is in fact a really positive thing. You see, every time you feel fear, whenever you are afraid of something, you are actually being provided with an incredible opportunity to gather what I like to refer to as a heroic moment."

He paused and asked, "What is a heroic moment?"

And I said with a reluctant voice, "It's a moment where you can save someone and be worthy called as a hero?"

Then he replied,

"Well that's right but let me tell you this first. The tales we tell ourselves determine our identity, how we see ourselves, and whether or not we like who we are. Similar to how a director weaves together the moments, or scenes, of a film to make you feel a specific way about the protagonist. Now, depending on the scenes or heroic moments you choose to include in your own film, your perception of yourself can shift dramatically. The defining moments that you instinctively include in your movie are strongly tied to your levels of confidence, whether or not you love yourself, and your self esteem. The difficulty is that most of us don't have enough fantastic, memorable heroic experiences to like the protagonist. There aren't enough reasons for us to appreciate ourselves. So it's up to you to collect as many of these instances as possible in order to improve your self-perception. Whenever you experience dread or fear, you are being offered the chance to gather one of your film's most powerful themes, a heroic moment. A scene in which the main character is confronted with terror, is rocked from head to toe, and his mind and body are attempting to persuade him to flee, but he manages to act notwithstanding. Despite all of this concern, a fantastic illustration of this can be found early on one of our all-time favorite anime series Sj, My Hero Academia.

We both loved the story, action and the main character Deku, a powerless, weak boy shivering with fear who manages to take action in an attempt to save another life in a world where practically everyone has some form of superpower or quirk, rushes into the fray to challenge a villain who has kidnapped his classmate. Sj, this is a moment of heroism, a moment when the odds are stacked against our upcoming hero. A moment when they are terrified, when they are likely to fail, but they nonetheless choose to stand up and act. These are the kinds of moments that are meant to evoke powerful emotions in the viewer. I'll tell you the truth. I couldn't help but be moved by Deku's actions the first time I saw this scenario, which made my eyes water. And this is something that most of us humans share: we all admire and respect those who can move forward in the face of adversity.

That is why young children enjoy superhero movies so much, because we admire individuals who can resist their urge to fear and flee from a young age. Every one of us secretly wishes to be a hero. Unfortunately, as we get older, most of us abandon that dream. But the truth is that anyone can be a hero; you don't have to dash into a blazing house and save the dog on the second floor or jump in front of a moving truck to save a child's life. You can accumulate heroic moments in your own life in a variety of ways without taking too many risks. And all you have to do now is take action rather than fleeing the next time you're faced with fear. Because it is what one does in the face of adversity that distinguishes a hero from a regular guy who cares about nothing and no one.

You just move because you're afraid of seeming awkward if you're pondering whether or not to go to that social function on your lonesome in that new location. That's an opportunity for you to capture a heroic moment as you prepare to start a new business that you've always wanted to establish, the business that you've fantasized about beginning for who knows how long. But you're afraid of making a fool of yourself in front of your friends and family if you fail. When you see that cute guy or girl on the bus and you know deep down inside that you want to talk to them, there's another chance to gather a heroic moment. But you're afraid of getting turned down, of having someone say no to you. This is your chance to shine as a hero. And being a hero has nothing to do with your ability to achieve. All that matters is that you can look fear in the eyes and take action nonetheless. It's critical to remember two things right now. I'm not suggesting that you go into things completely unprepared. Always do some kind of planning ahead of time. Now is the time for you to face your fears rather than running away. The second thing to remember is that you're not accumulating heroic events to brag about to your friends. Because you're the one who watches your own movie over and over, you should be saving these moments for yourself. The more heroic moments you have in the movie you're making for yourself, the more respect you'll have for yourself as a person, the more you'll appreciate who you are and what you stand for, and the more mentally strong you'll be. This, in turn, will increase others' regard for and liking of you.

Because, deep down, we all have heroes that we look up to. So, the next time fear prevents you from taking an action that you've been putting off for who knows how long, realize that you're being presented with a powerful opportunity. It's life that gives you the opportunity to make a decision. Sj, you have the option of becoming a hero right now. You have the option to take action and collect a heroic moment for your film. You have the option of doing something that will increase your self-esteem and love. Also, keep in mind that the outcome is irrelevant. It makes no difference if Deku couldn't save his pal by himself. It makes no difference if you appear awkward at the party or if you are rejected by that girl. What important is that you faced your fears and took action. That is what distinguishes a hero from the rest of the pack. If you didn't have the finest year in 2020, don't panic; there's a new year ahead of you, 2021, which means you can start making the most of your time right now."

After that, he patted my head and assured me that I could handle everything. I don't know what to say after hearing such a lovely message from him, but I'm thankful that no matter what challenges I face in life, I know there'll always be someone by my side to listen and console me, whether it's a closest friend or my girlfriend.

That's all for today, everyone; I hope the message he gave me might be of use to you as well 🥰

Loved your story telling way and the explanation from your friend. I really love this anime and it is in my top 3 favorite anime. Deku is a really positive character and he never gives up. His never ending determination to achieve what he want makes him my favorite character in the anime series.

Actually Takemitchy has more determination than Deku has. Now Deku has power and he can protect himself and others. But Takemitchy never had power's but his never ending determination helped him change the past. I could not wait after watching he episode of previous week and wrote the manga. Takemitchy is such a badass. But I love deku more for his sense of humor and justice.

Our Fears are only thing that bound us to do that we actually wanted. Fears to lose something that is precious for us. But it's only our fear. We should face them to be successful in life. "The Fears that you didn't face becomes your limit ".
