Stress is normal in human life. In particular, the prolonged period of the pandemic can cause great anxiety and fear about health and the future. Remember that excessive and long-term stress can cause illness or physical illness (such as the collapse of the immune system). As well as mental illness (such as depression). Here's how to deal with stress during a pandemic.
Currently, we are going through many changes in our daily lives due to Covid19.
What exactly can we do to combat stress during the pandemic?
Take care of yourself
It may be that by living too busy, we neglect ourselves. It is time for us to value the care of our body. Eat well or a balanced diet and get enough sleep.
Move the body
Exercise even indoors for at least 30 minutes per day. Exercise helps release endorphins. It is a type of chemical in the human brain that acts as natural painkillers. And it helps to get a good night's sleep and reduce stress.
Study meditation
Meditation helps to relax and calm the body, and thus give it time to repair the damage caused by stress.
It is said that meditation for at least 10 minutes a day can bring about a positive change in ourselves. You can start the day with self-reflection. Or maybe recognizing the things to be thankful for that day.
Use the time to stay close to family
We now have time to be with our children and loved ones while most are not working. Use this time to say hello and get to know each other. Help children with their homework assignments. Watch a movie with them, teach them homework and play with them. Have fun with family. We can also use this time to say hello to our family and friends. Whether they are far or near, by phone or the internet.
Learn a new skill
Let us devote our extra time to honing our abilities. It can be learning Italian or another language. We can also use this time to be creative and learn to paint, write or play an instrument. Find lessons online. Creativity is a way to release the hidden tensions in our bodies and minds.
Finish projects that have begun but are not yet complete
If we have tasks set aside because we are too busy or have no time. We can do those now and finish. Things we do not finish are constantly haunting our minds. And finishing them helps for our mental health.
Organize household items
We can use this time to fix our homes. Dispose of items that are no longer needed. Or arrange things in order to make our living space look comfortable. A clean environment contributes to peace of mind. We can also put plants in the house and in the rooms. According to new studies it helps relieve stress.
Help Others
Even when we are at home, there are still ways for us to use our ability to help others. Find a way to help your community even in small ways. Helping others brings happiness and inner peace to the person.
