Long wait is over
It's been a year since a took the course PetE 413 or the thesis 1. This subject is not easy to finish, this subject requires a deep research about your topic. This course is by group, it is really hard to make a prototype or an experiment alone. After the groupings, each member were tasked to have a topic an be approved by our professor. Then as a group we chose one topic to prioritize and to be pursue.
We chose the design and development one since it was the most easiest among the topics that were approved by our professor. We struggle a lot since we're still took other subjects aside from thesis. So our grade became INC since we didn't made to defense before the semester ends. It is also pandemic so it is really hard to approach our thesis adviser. He replies after a week or even months, that's why our group was late to defend.
Still glad that we made it to the next and last chapters of thesis, which is the chapters 4 and 5. This will be hard since we need to fabricate a machine that converts an oil to biodiesel. Hopefully we can made it on time.
I think this will be for now guys. I am back, again. I hope you still remember me. Thanks guys.

Last November 2 namigay kami ng educational assisstance para sa mga college students sa aming barangay. Nakakatuwa kasi di na kami namili ng bibigyan so lahat ng nagpasa ng requirements ay nakatanggap. Ang sarap sa feeling kapag pasok sa budget yung bilang ng nagpasa, hirap kasi kapag may hindi nakatanggap nagkakameron ng hinanakit. So ayun, ang saya 😁
Btw, ako nga pala yang nasa pic na may kausap haha andaldal kasi nyan sadya at matagal ko na yang friend na noon lang ulit kami nagkita kahit magka-barangay 🤣.
So ayon, nakakaexcite ang mga susunod na project kasi nakakatuwang makita ang mga kabataan sa barangay na masaya.

Pitching
No matter what you do for a living, whether you work in business development, an entrepreneur, teacher, engineer, freelancer or maybe a student like me – you are affected by the pandemic because of covid-19. And just like what they say, no one is safe until everyone is safe.
Honestly, there is no specific person that inspired us in pursuing this venture because everyone from different walks of life are affected by COVID-19. Local transmission of COVID-19 is very rampant because we are not fully aware of the COVID status of the people we encounter with (such as vaccinated, unvaccinated, boostered, etc.). Among the measures the country has implemented are through vaccination cards and health declaration forms. But aside from the hassle it brings, is that it comes with the risk of using your personal information in accomplishing crimes.
We aim to solve these problems through COVID T.R.A.C.K. An application that would detect the COVID status of the people you encounter with and also shares your COVID status (vaccinated, unvaccinated, boostered, had COVID, with symptoms, etc.) within a specific location.
To test the feasibility and the demand of our proposed venture, we conducted a survey participated by 183 Batangas City citizens ranging from ages 16-60 years old. 70% of these participants would like to improve the current covid monitoring and tracking process hence, we will be pursing this venture.
There are 315,390 people within our target age range for Batangas City alone. Hence, applying our venture to the whole country Philippines having 90.8% of the population as smartphone users would provide a large market size. The application would also prevent the 3,668,505 confirmed COVID cases from rising.
COVID T.R.A.C.K. is an application that would display the COVID status of the people around you within 50 ft radius, real time.
Early adoptions would be our beta application users which are mostly college students and working groups who are usually outside their homes that would aid in the development of the application.
Competitors of the application are existing covid applications which include the following famous and known applications from App Store and Google Playstore Care19- a location logging application, GuideSafe- an application that allows anonymous contact tracing and COVID Alert for contact tracing using Bluetooth. However, our product includes all of this functions in one application, making it your go-to application for a user-friendly, legitimate and real time approach in battling COVID-19.

COVID T.R.A.C.K. Ideation
Last Semester, our professor taught us on how to be a technopreneur. After the lessons, she made a groupings and gave us a task which is to create/think a non-existing application/services that would be helpful to people. So each member in our group think one idea and then we will vote to pick which one is to be prioritize during the presentation.
The chosen ideation is to create a COVID T.R.A.C.K. application in order to address the problem in monitoring and tracking of covid, to track those vaccinated or unvaccinated people in your nearby area, notify you when there is a person that tested positive or have a symptom in your nearby area, and other great features. I believe that this application is very useful and timely, even though we are about to get back to normal, the possibility of being infected by the virus is still there, since we are not totally in zero cases, so we still need to be aware and careful of those who we encounter outside.
Upon talking to people (customers) or upon giving survey to them with the use of google forms in order to know if there is really a problem in the current way of tracking the covid patients, the vaccinated or unvaccinated persons, the result shows us that there is really a problem about the current way of tracking. Since 87.84% out of 183 respondents agreed that there is really a problem in the current way in detecting, monitoring, or tracking the covid patients. Therefore, this application will be helpful to us during this covid or even not just this covid time. This will be helpful also when we encounter any type of virus crisis in the future, since we do not know what is ahead of us. From that result, we agreed to pursue our idea in order to resolve the current problem.
In the process of making our ideation, of course the conflict in a group/team is always there. In our group the only conflict that I think we encountered is the TIME. Since we have our own life and we are just talking virtually, time would of each other is hard to control. Some has their different life events that need to be attended. Sometimes some just need to take a rest because of tiredness from the requirement in other subject. We still have the time management, but it is just hard to set a time that all of the members in our group was available.
So how do our group resolve this conflict? It is simply like this, one of our members will ask if we are available to meet at 8 pm (example), then when someone is not available that time, the time that was set will be adjusted until all of the members of our team will be available before we proceed in making the activity. We are always in one room/meet when doing an activity in order to finish it faster. So, that is what I think the conflict in our group.

My OJT Journey
On-the-job training is a component of a college curriculum designed to educate and prepare students for their future careers. It is a sort of skill development in which a worker learns how to do the job by doing it. On-the-job training is one approach by which students are exposed to various work situations in order to provide them with the opportunity to use the theories and computations that they have acquired in school. It also assists students in gaining relevant knowledge and skills by allowing them to perform in a real-world situation.
On-the-job training is critical not only for teaching students about their chosen career but also for demonstrating the realities of working. Students will be exposed to real-world work linked to the course they are enrolled in. It also allows folks with no prior expertise to work while learning. It also allows trainees to learn more about their chosen industry and put what they've studied in school into practice. It aids in the development of the trainee's interpersonal competence and professionalism. It improves the learners' critical thinking skills and discipline.
Proper on-the-job training aids trainees in their preparation for their future career as professionals. What trainees learnt throughout their on-the-job training can be implemented in the workplace. Trainees will be educated not just academically, but also socially. It will no longer be an issue for them to work and communicate with others. It also allows trainees to immerse themselves in their chosen field and gain experience and knowledge in the industry they are interested in.
Unfortunately, during this pandemic, actual training for the students was prohibited. Since the university wants its students to be safe. Due to that policy, companies didn’t accept trainees because they aren’t entertaining a training virtually. Some companies offered an online training, but I chose to work at the university. Specifically, I was destined to work at CEAFA - Dean’s Office. In this regard, this narrative report will discuss the experience achieved through the on-the-job training program.
Last February 9, 2022, our supervisor calls a meeting in the university. During that day, we are informed on what will be our tasks to do in our destined department. He allows us to select one day to duty in the department in actual, and the remaining two days will be a work from home set up. I chose Tuesday as the day of my duty. But we (me & co-trainee) talk about our first duty, and we attended our first duty on February 14, 2022, since my co-trainee has an event the next day. During my first duty, I am not that happy since I didn’t fulfill to have my on-the-job training in my dream company. But as days goes by, I get over into that dream and start facing the reality and enjoy working on it. During the next and following duties I was able to arrive on time and do every task that asked on me with a smile.
As a trainee in the university CEAFA – Dean’s Office Department I have learned a lot of things. I learned on how to love the work even it is not my dream kind of work. I learned on how to be patient in doing things repeatedly. I learned on how to treat co-employees kindly and with respect as considering them one of my bosses since, they’re higher than me.
The first task that was asked to me was compiling the contract of service of the employees of CEAFA. This task was hard for me since their contract and ID’s were separated and I need to find and to combine them. Also, it took a lot of hours before I finished all of it, since CEAFA department contains a large numbers of employee.
Second task was putting the student number or sr-code of the graduates together with the latest year that they enrolled and graduated in the university. Me and my partner was alternate in doing this task since we only used the huge touch screen monitor inside the office. It causes me a headache at some point because of facing that large monitor for a long time.
During the next duty, we continue doing the graduates thing, which is to put their sr-codes and the latest year that they enrolled and graduated to the university. But this time, we used a small monitor or the computer in the office. Doing the task in this set up is much easier that the last time we did.
The last task was asked by my supervisor, and another professor from CEAFA department. The task that my supervisor asked to me was about the ABET, I did it quickly since it only needs to transfer the content of a file into another file. That’s why another professor approach me and asked for a help in checking the curriculum vitae of the employees in her department.

From the beginning of the semester we (me and my classmates) are afraid of facing the course Plant Design since based on our seniors, "it is really hard to finished", "it is harder that thesis", and "most of them failed that course subject".
On the first month of the semester, we are all okay since our class was more on discussion on how what we'll be done to pass the subject. We're just focus on listening to our professor since it was really hard to do. It is a group project so each of us needs a knowledge in order to give an inputs when formulation of group is done. It is really like thesis but "harder" since we are composed of 3 members only per group.
Before the posting of groupings that our professor made, I am nervous of who'll be my groupmates since teamwork was the key in order to finish this subject.
So the groupings has been posted. Luckily, I had a groupmates that I am close with. Though we're not good in doing such paper like this but the teamwork is what we executed to finish this. We're not good in researching, but because of the goal that is to finish this together, we did it. Actually, those groups who's considered as a powerhouse groups were asking for our paper since we finished our paper as early as we could.
As in, they follow our format. As a classmate/friend of them we allow them to access our paper. Unlike some that really selfish about their paper. Since our group is not that competitive, we allow them to access it and follow our format.
We're not already pass the subject since semester is still on going, and grades are not uploaded yet. I am just happy that we finished the paper even our group is not perfect and strong compared to other groups.
Actually, other groups was admire our group since we did it earlier than what is expected hahaha. This is all because of one of our groupmate who's actively asking for a meeting in order to divide the works in every chapter. That's why I am obliged to finish those before the next meeting scheduled hahaha. Doing things ahead of time is not my thing haha. But because of my groupmate I did it ahaha.
We're just waiting for our simulation to finish, then we'll present it and then we are totally done in the requirements of this subject. Just want to show you the first part of the 3D simulation of our plant.
So yeah, I am just happy and hopefully we pass this subject. Not just our group but all of us who takes this subject course. That's all.

Field Trip Banning in Public and Private Colleges and Universities
**My Thought about the Field Trip Banning in Public and Private Colleges and Universities**
Educational trips give students experiences away from their regular school environment while providing alternative educational opportunities. It is a time to unwind and still learn at the same time. Implementing field trips was never an issue until a tragic Tanay bus accident took the lives of students from Bestlink Colleges. With this, the Commission on Higher Education announced that they will suspend field trips conducted by school. The said suspension will cover all educational tours and field trips in all public and private colleges and universities while a probe on the bus crash is ongoing. Department of Education (DepEd) said they will study the possibility of banning schools from conducting outdoor field trips to prevent accidents. ***As student, I strongly disagree in banning field trips.***
What happened in the tragic bus accident caught the public's attention and cause issues nationwide. With CHED, majority of the lawmakers were eager to impose a ban on field trips. Quezon City Representative Winston Castelo said that we should immediately stop other schools from conducting similar trips pending the establishment of their relevance to their study and the assurance of the student's insurance and safety.
Not only lawmakers were against field trips but most of the parents. Field trips bring up a wide array of legal issues, most regarding liability. If a student gets injured on a nature hike, is the school liable for medical fees? What about the park, or the forest ranger leading the hike? Parents may be nervous about the safety of their children. Also, most parents were being thrifty and can't afford such expensive trip, but were forced to comply because some field trips were obligatory.
We cannot guarantee a 100% safety for students no matter how strict the rules are. There will always be students who have poor behaviour and attitudes. Some students are egotistical enough to disobey their teachers and do things the way they like which cause trips to be unsuccessful breaking the good relation between the teacher and the student. Medical risk. For example like while travelling via vehicle some children gets motion sickness.
According to De Vera, "This is being done in consideration of the safety of students and it will allow an investigating committee to look in to the circumstances surrounding the tragedy that happened in Tanay."
***On the contrary, learning is not found merely inside the four corners of a room, educational trips are important in the field of learning.*** With field trips, students have the opportunity to determine what they learn and how they learn it. Said differently, student learning can be interest-driven, not teacher and curriculum driven. Students will experience a more holistic, integrated picture of the information that, in the classroom, may have only been presented in a textual and abstract way.
Especially to college students, participating in such activities will equip students a better understanding of topics, build cultural understanding and tolerance, and expose them to worlds outside their own. How can we say they're well educated if they would not know how to apply what they learned in real life situations? Field trips give students the opportunity to learn in a natural environment and experience things first-hand and from primary resources, rather than texts; real objects rather than photos.
A study found that regardless of gender, ethnicity or socioeconomic status, 59% of students who take educational trips have better grades, 95% have higher graduation rates from high school and 63% in college. In fact, 89% said educational trips had a positive, lasting impact on their education and career because the trips made them more engaged, intellectually curious and interested in and out of school.
Recognizing how some trips involve certain monetary costs which may be unaffordable to students coming from poor families and who therefore are not able to join, teachers should refrain from conducting tests based on these field trips. It should be decided that tests will be held based on these field trips, students who were unable to join such trips should not be penalized; they shall be given special tests or assignments as substitutes for not joining the field trip.School heads are encouraged to tap external sources to help fund educational field trips and arrange for group or student discounts in order to reduce the burden on students. Also, those responsible for organizing the field trips should secure the consent of parents of the students to join the field trip since the students are under the stewardship of the school.
Field trips have been long conducted for the benefit of learning. It should not be prohibited because of an unfortunate accident. This will prepare them of what’s ahead of them. There can be other ways to make sure everyone is safe during field trips. **Banning field trips is not the solution.** Let the students learn from the best teacher, experience.

Good afternoon everyoneee. Nasa outing ako ngayon kaya di na nakapost dito kanina hahaha. Napag-ihaw din kasi ako ng liempo kaya busy. Hanggang bukas pa kami kaya sana makakota pa rin ako mamaya sa axiee. Sheesh.
Good evening! Sa ngayon e may session na naman HAHA di ko matanggihan ang tropa lalo na at malapit na eleksyon. Konti lang naman kaya naiisabay ko ang pag eedit ng aking requirements.
Ayan nag eedit ako ng aming requirement para sa plant design. Ang hirap maging employer talaga haha.
