The Router Protocol is nearing mainnet release, with our estimate showing we are about 99% ready to go. This week we expect a big announcement and revelation of our strategic fundraising round. Router is currently live on testnet, and we have been gathering valuable feedback for corrections that will be made for our subsequent testnet push. We have also been engaging community auditors through our Immunefi bug bounty program, and are encouraged by the community response.

We are very excited to launch the Router product, and to expand it beyond Ethereum / Polygon to other EVM compatible chains in early 2022.

The rest of this article will be a summary of key Q&A in our Telegram-based AMA.

Q. Most recent DeFi attacks have been on the front-end and NOT the smart contracts. What audits and/or security measures are in place to prevent such attacks on the ROUTER / DFYN front end? Cloudflare, AWS, etc. Where can users find DFYN / ROUTER-approved smart contracts to protect themselves from front-end attacks?

It’s important to keep in mind that we have engaged a senior security professional to audit our entire protocol end-to-end. The scope of these audits will not be limited to smart contracts, but will nclude all code including the front end. We will formally announce his work when contracts are signed. We also reward front-end bugs in our bug bounty program.

Q. Why has development been slow? How will timelines be met in the future?

Most of the code has been ready since August, but our commitment to security has prevented us from launching. Throughout our audits, internal testing, etc we have unearthed edge cases that require us to patch code.

Also, we have learned and mitigated issues that other bridges / cross-chain protocols have encountered so that we don’t repeat their mistakes. However, we are now at a stage where we are pretty confident that all the under-the-hood workings are solid, and do not have any attack vectors. Keep in mind that with the TVL we expect to be locked in our contracts, it is a huge responsibility to ensure that code is fully secure.

We have been asked to implement transparent bi-weekly goals, and we think this is an excellent suggestion. We will expedite this in the coming weeks before launch.

Q. When will Router be integrated into Dfyn?

The first phase of Router’s release will have cross-chain transfers, and the second phase will have cross-chain swaps. After those are delivered we will expand on the Dfyn side.

Q. How long will it take to expand to other EVM chains?

Adding support for new chains is not a technical challenge, but rather an economical one. The problem is liquidity management in a multi-chain environment, so it’s important to scale chain support as liquidity allows. To encourage this, liquidity programs will be onboarded slowly with much thought and research.

Q. Will there be any new Route single asset vaults?

Yes, after mainnet launch we will enable Route single asset staking.

Q. What are your short term marketing plans for Route?

We plan to announce our funding news, roll out Mainnet v0, launch liquidity programs for Router Protocol liquidity, and release Router SDK so others can build on top of Router.

Q. Have you had any interest from other projects using Router?

Yes, multiple partners from multiple chains have approached us to use Router as a solution for crosschain. We have also targeted new projects that have not launched a token yet to offer them an interoperable token at day 0.

Q. When Mainnet?

While we do not have a firm date set, we expect to announce Mainnet release date by the 15th and are hopeful that mainnet will come by the end of this month.

Q. Are there any CEX listings coming in the future?

Yes, we are in talks for listings on CEX’s and will double down as soon as Mainnet hits. This will likely come in Q1 2022.

We sincerely thank the community for their participation in our AMA.
