Do you have an idea what this means?
This is what my Economic professor told us on our first meeting and the very first time I heard about it too.
There's no such thing as free lunch. - John Ruskin
When we say free lunch, it means you did not pay for it because it's FREE.
in Filipino,
Libre.
But is it really free? No it is not.
This adage means that things that may seem free ALWAYS have some implicit or hidden cost to it...maybe not for you but for someone else.
This is a really simple analogy: You ordered something online and it comes with a freebie. You didn't pay for it but the seller did so it means that it is actually not free for someone's point of view.
Walang libre sa mundo. Kapag may nanlibre sayo sa Jollibee, may ibang gagastos. Kapag may napulot kang bente, dugo't pawis 'yun ng ibang tao. Kapag nag 1 2 3 ka sa jeep, kawalan 'yun ng kita sa driver.
So if next time someone says 'Libre lang?'
Blow them away with this:
My first time hearing that quote but its a truth! Everything is earned. Thanks sa idea ng Economics. Pang first year yata yung subject na yan.
