The world´s most advanced robotic dog is helping farmers in New Zealand carry out a number of agricultural tasks, including herding sheep, patrolling fields, and going on search and rescue missions.
The powerful autonomous droid was developed by a US-based company, Boston Dynamics. The robot´s abilities include climbing stairs, traveling through challenging terrain, and even opening doors. The droid called Spot is equipped with software by the Rocos technology company, and it was created to relieve the strain of worker shortages and create precision in farming.
Some researchers say that the coronavirus pandemic has led to a new era of robotic helpers. During a demonstration in New Zealand, the droid was controlled remotely to herd a flock of sheep. The robot dog has also been seen recently patrolling a park in Singapore, advising people to practice social distancing
