Travel is always enjoyable. However, travel not only gives pleasure but also gives you all the information about the world around you. The human mind is at the same time happy and thirsty for knowledge. It is difficult to find a person in the world who does not like to travel. In that case, boat travel is especially enjoyable among the various trips. Because people can easily get closer to nature through boat travel.

Travel routes: Generally, travel can be done by land, water and air. Bangladesh is our riverine country. There are innumerable rivers, canals and beels scattered like a net in the vast soil of this country. The people of this country used to travel more by water. But due to the improvement of communication system, even though waterways are not used much at present, one has to travel by boat to different parts of rural Bengal. I also had the opportunity to travel like this.

Travel plans: My school was closed at the end of the annual exams. I was planning to go somewhere with friends. But not everyone could agree on a plan. Suddenly someone started talking about boat travel. Since we friends all grew up in the city, never had the opportunity to go on a boat trip so we all unanimously agreed to go on a boat trip. The date was fixed. Next Friday we will go on a boat trip on the Gaumati river.

Preparation for the voyage: A medium-sized boat was chartered the day before the voyage. Two boatmen were taken in the boat. Along the way, I bought a camera, tape recorder, water and some dried food, biscuits, chanachur, chips, bananas, etc. Chao was taken in a big flax.

Departure: At 8 in the morning we reached Dwebidwar Ghat. But the time was winter so it was covered with fog all around. We all decided that we would start the journey only after the fog cleared. It was 10 o'clock in the morning when the fog cleared and the sun rose. When the sun came up, we got on the boat with the necessary things. Immediately the boatman lifted the anchor and left the boat. We cried out in joy.

Description of the journey: Shortly after leaving the boat, the boatman sang, "I couldn't get out of the boat because of your boatman's mind." The rhythm of the oar and the water, as well as the song sung by the middleman, gave us an unprecedented swing. We sat in the middle of the boat, listening to the music. In the meanwhile we did not know when the boat came in the middle of the river. By that time, another boatman had also set the tone. The two of them sometimes sang Bhati's songs with happiness in their minds-

β€œHey and Rangila Nair's boatman

You take it to this wharf

Listen to what Nigum has to say. ”

Numerous more boats were sailing on the river. Some are passenger, some are freight. Small and medium sized boats of various sizes. I asked the boatman and found out that these boats have different names according to their size and shape. Dinghy, Sampan, Pansi, Mayurpankhi are many more names. Some boats run on engines again.

Scenery: Coming to the middle of the river, I realized how wonderful the Creator has made our country. We stared at the view from both sides of the river in amazement. Crop fields on both sides of the river, open fields, sometimes one or two houses. Our boat sometimes sailed in the middle of the river, sometimes in the middle of the river. Suddenly I saw a flock of white bucks flying. The white bucks in the green nature on both sides seem to make the surrounding nature more beautiful. Fishing from some boats. The silver body of the fish trapped in the net is glistening in the sun. Somewhere, a group of boys and girls are swimming in the river. The brides of the village have come to fetch water from the river bank. When the boat is in the middle of the river, the distant trees and houses look like the masterpieces of an artist. Quiet, silent all around. There is no sound except the sound of water splashing. We seem to have forgotten the conversation. It seems that one of the most beautiful scenes of this beautiful nature will be lost. In the meantime, we captured some scenes on camera.

Village Hat: We didn't know when it was past noon. When the sailors came to a dock and tied the boat, we thought of our time. The village walk is next to the wharf where our boat is tied. We all walked around the small but noisy market with great joy. In the small market, everything is available. There are earthen pots, toys, dolls as well as rice, pulses, murki, murki, fish and meat. On one side I saw Moira in a small shop frying jilapi. There are also stained glass bangles, Alta shop. Tired of wandering around for so long, we got back on the boat.

Lunch on the boat: When I came back, I saw a boatman cooking rice in a clay oven made in the boat. And the other is fishing. As I sat down to eat, I noticed that all our stomachs were rumbling with hunger. Sitting in the boat and eating hot rice and fresh fish soup from the river felt like nectar. After eating in a hurry, I took a little rest under the boat and started the journey again as soon as the sun went down. Now it's time to return home.

The sun of the river is setting: lunch is a little late, so it is very early in the afternoon. On a cold winter afternoon the cold air of the river seemed a little chilly. But still we continued to enjoy the beautiful view of the calm river in the afternoon. As the evening approached, the silence of the river was broken and the birds began to chirp. The sun seemed to be tired at the end of the day and slowly began to tilt to the west. Gradually the western sky turned red with the red of the sun. After a while, Surya Mama seemed to dive into the river water. We all sat on the boat and enjoyed the amazing view of the sunset. This is the first time in my life that I saw the sun set on the river, which will forever be etched in my memory.

Night scene: That day was full moon night. Shortly after sunset, Chand Mama peeked into the eastern sky. As evening fell, the moon appeared in its magnificent lunar form. The beauty of the moonlight in the river cannot be understood without seeing it with one's own eyes. We were stunned to see such an unprecedented scene for the first time. In the moonlight, the view of the trees and houses on both sides of the river seemed unearthly. Boats were plying the river in the evening. Most of these are fishing boats. The flickering lights in the fishermen's boats seemed to flicker and flicker. In the darkness of the night, the chirping of birds stopped and the river became calm again. In the silence all around, the sound of water splashing created a strange melody.

Reaching the destination and on the way home: We had no idea when our boat came to the dock dancing with the current. We became aware of the call of the middlemen. We got off at Devidwar Ghat again and from there we left for our respective homes. But all of us were in the middle of the river. It was about 10 o'clock at night to reach home.
