With this edge credited to ASERT DAA, I hereby vote 100% support for jtoomim and his team to forge ahead and implement ASERT DAA as scheduled. Thanks!
Ya! I have just found the advantages of ASERT DAA over the status quo cw-144. I hereby totally support jtoomim and his team to push forward the ASERT DAA. "We must forget Grasberg DAA in this scene". Thanks.
Edited, haven't done any message signing yet, not sure if I am doing it correctly.
What you did is fine. Just replace the "message" with `88ebd526eb74486ba863b85d2e096c5f4c4bb50aa68da62bd5aa402596bb8e03` so that the meaning of your signature is more clear.
gotcha, I think, thanks.
Ok yes great. Thank you.
You can only take over what belongs to someone.
You have some significant misunderstanding about the history and current situation in Bitcoin Cash. Perhaps if you join a higher bandwidth discussion form like telegram or slack it would be easier to talk about it. At a minimum, I can state that most players in the ecosystem have absolutely bent over backward to compromise and work with ABC and found zero compromise in return.
Thank you, but my core statement that nobody will thank any of the developers if there is a contentious hard fork resulting in two chains is probably true. I don't know if the devs ever get together in person, but I watched the entire Bitcoin Cash DAA Development meeting #2 and while it was well moderated (and others before it), it is clear that there are entrenched positions which won't be resolved in this manner and may just make matters worse. I'm sure that I do have plenty of misunderstandings, but surely it is up to the miners to agree as to what is to be done. Do they want this issue resolved when they will no longer be able to game the DAA ? I see also that there is BCH DEVCON 3 in early September and it appears that Chris Troutner will be there along with Amaury Séchet. Obviously I can understand the frustration of developers whose work isn't being adopted and I am not myself in favour of 11 minute blocks for the next 6 years but nothing would be worse than for there to be two competing versions of BCH from the point of view of adoption. I think that there is also a problem as Amaury's English is not easy to understand sometimes. This is just my opinion, and thank you for taking the time to reply to it rather than than voting me down. I have had the privilege to meet many of the big names of Bitcoin (Roger Ver, Stefan Rust and even Craig Wright) at London BCH meetups. Prior to this I did some mining in 2014, but now, in my 70's I'm too old to write code. I remain grateful to all the developers for their contributions.
No worries. Thanks for explaining. And yes, you are seeing a significantly skewed view of what is actually going on. A whole ecosystem having such a strong opinion and unity, disrupting their valuable time to do something like this hopefully gives you some evidence on what that skew is.
It seems like this is the most logical solution so I support it, good luck, and thanks for all your efforts (all devs) Signed just for fun :) CashAccount Megability#30001 address: qzmkv2p6hytdnwsdxgd23qvpzs49xtkhs5wu9gfkml Signature: IE7xPiLRqo0ip7qlcl3qL8VwVyf8ic1i7sTT26ttDuaaC9YsK0xkOpc6MHBj08aieJIctbzXN4/N3VNHwT1vj50=
Nice update. Verified.
I support the deployment of the aserti3-2d difficulty adjustment algorithm on Bitcoin Cash on November 15th, 2020. Hopefully, development will now occur on a more consensual basis among development teams. taipalag (https://www.reddit.com/user/taipalag/) address: bitcoincash:qzd24dt0d807lepnk023g5d0567w84wjncd6l6zfth signature:HyFnUGEHFyF2PlVpig2M09R58TWwcfm13TlR6BQ41vecAkeAMiuvQkn/QQpPvbzwmJqsZBt047RyF3WS3sECTxM=

> taipalag I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by reference. Anyway, I guess this point is now moot given Bitcoin ABC's latest crazy move.
I think he meant something like a name, project or company you would like to be known as or have attached ith your signature.
Another split would be very unhelpful to the community, but i do understand the need to make a statement before the 15th. I hope the ABC team takes this into consideration when deciding their position. I do support the implementation of aserti3-2d, because delaying blocks seems very counterintuitive to the goals of BCH as a payment system as opposed to a store of value. bitcoincash:qp6vums94ezqjzrwz9jruy8lyetuaq7thv4tkv07sy signature:H+Mxbj1p27HIpfZnUxBKUM0oKkv+5JBj08KTy0FPJkpeFPoDMhiYTIFfsV35SbYbYxiid3X0+4K/9UMjD8hB1Sw=
Verified. Indeed a split would be terrible. There is a clear way forward with a single, rational chain.

Nice! Could you help me understand what the message you signed is? I wasn't able to figure it out.
I assume this file content. or possible a hash of it: https://github.com/RowanSkie/bitcoincashstatement/blob/master/signature.txt
Yeah, the whole message is that signature. Lemme re-edit the link, since Read.Cash has anti-spam measures.
From what I remember, the prediction was that BCHN would fork, and the motivation was because they removed the "poison pill" code. If I remember correctly, then that prediction does not match this statement - this is not BCHN and the motivation is not right either. It's not very difficult to make a vague prediction like this, but it's very hard to make an accurate one.

> I think that we also must recognise that Amaury was the force behind BCH and that he gave way on the Infrastructure Funding Proposal Tell me more about how he gave way on the IFP. This comment didn't age well at all, did it?
Well, He didn't get his way, that's for sure, so maybe he thinks that people are trying to wrest control away from him ? You need to see it from his perspective too.
People said the same kind of thing about Luke-Jr. Didn't change my opinions about his actions, either.
I now, understand your remark about the IFP. Luke-Jr was an idiot or an arse who deliberately sabotaged Bitcoin. That's not the case for Amaury - who stepped in when someone was needed to salvage Bitcoin. We need less conflict in BCH. The DAA dispute is now resolved, but funding for BCH development is still an issue.
Whelp, I've finally been given a reason to join this community. From the address bitcoincash:qpmjlwjdl6xqfqqqehx95wft7mys2lfz2ux8jldgw8 (the oldest transacted address in my current wallet), here is the signature of the sha256sum (which I have verified to match up with the message above so long as you use Linux line breaks as opposed to Windows line breaks): IPk/LK6F3faO/3LnEJk5mzLmVaAT44QuRoUZXfww4kc5SpuvjV/XHY/Gjjk52X7i++M+ZdfbiusCCHXjmxXRU6o= Of course, maybe a new statement needs drafted anyway now that Amaury has finally shown himself to be no different than Theymos. Also there's the fact that this signature doesn't really prove anything since I haven't previously signed anything else, but maybe when it was transacted against provides some value.
i like it
