In Switzerland, there are so many wonderful sites to visit. The term alone conjures images of expensive chocolates, fancy watches, hardcore neutrality, and bank balances with more zeros than you can ever fathom.

Yes, the Swiss have covered every aspect of the luxury niche, but there's so much more to Switzerland than that.

I don't believe there is a "ideal time" to visit most sites in Europe (mostly because our weather in a lot of Europe is rather odd anyhow), so it doesn't matter when you decide to see these Swiss beauties; just make the effort to visit them.

1. Chateau de Chillon

Chateau de Chillon, a gorgeous scenic castle on Lake Geneva, is very stunning on its own (especially with the beautiful backdrop of the mountains, lake, and forest), but after sunset, it's pure perfection!

There's a reason this is frequently rated as one of Switzerland's most beautiful spots – something that will become abundantly evident to you as soon as you arrive! It's simply incredible and unlike anything else in Switzerland.

2. Lake Geneva

While located on Lake Geneva, this is one of the most beautiful areas in Switzerland to visit, especially in the summer. (Winter isn't too bad, although the water is much colder, making it more difficult to swim in.)...

In addition to being Europe's largest lake, Lake Geneva is also one of Switzerland's most picturesque, thanks to the surrounding mountains, charming Swiss villages, and the city of Geneva itself.

3. The Matterhorn

On the Swiss-Italian border, this peak stands at 14,692 feet, making it one of the Alps' highest points.

If you visit during the summer, you'll be treated to a breathtaking alpine panorama that makes even the train ride up here worthwhile. In the winter, you may ski (and maybe even stay in an igloo) on Switzerland's spectacular Matterhorn, which is completely covered in snow.

4. St.Moritz

In addition to being a favorite playground for the affluent and famous, St Moritz is also one of Switzerland's most beautiful destinations, and should not be neglected by any visitor to the country, even if they are just in town for the day.

If you're looking for a somewhere to visit that's equally beautiful in both the summer and the winter, this Alpine resort should be on your list!

5. The Rhine Falls

The Rhine Falls are a stunning and spectacular sight to see. You'll be staring at it in awe for a long time and frequently bringing out your camera.

In addition, it appears to be Europe's largest plain waterfall! (Are you still impressed?)

6. The Saint Gall Abbey

Located in St. Gallen, this UNESCO world heritage site is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful spots in Switzerland and attracts visitors from around the world. The Baroque-style architecture of the interior is likewise quite spectacular.

7. The Kapellbrücke

One of the country's most popular tourist attractions, Kapellbrücke, is the oldest wooden covered footbridge in Europe, making it a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.

Yes, that is very stunning.
