Nikola Tesla was a Serbian scientist of Croatian origin. He worked and lived in America. An Engineer, inventor, best known for inventing three-phase current. Its most significant inventors are: polyphase system, rotating magnetic field, asigron motor, synchronous motor, and tesla transformer. He was participated in the construction of the first hydroelectric plant at Niagara Falls. The international unit for measuring and density of magnetic flux is named after him.

He was born 10.7 1856. in Smiljan in Lica as the son of a Serbian Orthodox priest. he was baptized in the church of St. Peter and Paul in Smiljan. His mother's name was Georgina he was the fourth of five children. During high school he suffered from cholera and recovered himself. After that he went to study electrical engineering in Graca, even then he showed interest in alternating power, he took exams with the highest scores and , worked very hard and slept very little. He left the study couse of family complications. by the 1881 is moving to Budapest for the work then to Paris working for Edison company. 1884In 1884 he went to America on the recommendation of the chief of Edison company. He then opened his own company in New York. he constructed the first AC motor and introduced it to the Americans. he then did experiments with x-rays, and after that he applied for his first patent in the field of multiphase power, became vice president of the American Institute and obtained American citizenship. He had a world exhibition in Chicago.in his laboratory he proved that the earth was a conductor and demonstrated artificial lightning, he claimed to have recorded radio signals from space.Had various obsessions, was obsessed with number 3 hE died of a heart attack in 1943 poor and in debt. he lived a very strange life, and left the world a great scientific legacy
