What is splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a nft trading card game where you can win real money in cryptocurrency, competing against other players, selling and renting your cards. Being a nft game, the cards you get in splinterlands belong to you, therefore it makes it a dapp or decentralized application that runs in your browser and phone.

What do i need to start playing?

You can create a free account with your email and a password to test the game and its mechanics that I will explain below, but to receive rewards in the game you will have to buy the sorcerer's book for a price of $10, which will allow you to receive rewards in DEC (dark energy crystals), as well as seasonal chests every 15 days, containing DEC (game money), cards and other items.

How to play on Splinterlands?

Once you have bought the sorcerer's book, where you do the tutorial, click on the right or left arrows until it says ranked, once entering to ranked the system will look for an opponent according to your rank, when it finds an opponent both players will have a time limit to build their strategy, the more you play the more strategies you will learn, you will earn more DEC and you will be able to buy cards and advance in the league, to be able to advance in the league you need power, the power is given to you by the cards you get, the Card rarities are divided into common, rare, epic and legendary, there are also the golden foils that give you a DEC bonus when you win a game. As in magic the gathering the cards have defense, attack and a number of mana, with the difference that in splinterlands it is played idle, meaning that the system decides who wins or loses according to the best strategy, the attack is divided into ranged, melee and magic.

What each player should know before starting are the basic rules of the game, such as:

Speed: It is the blue icon to the left of the card, it establishes which card attacks first, if a card with lower speed attacks at a higher speed it has a chance of miss (if it is melee or distance, magic attacks always hit ), obviously the higher the speed number the better.

Life or defense: Something that should not be missing in every card game is the life number of each card that can be seen as a heart, once the player has beaten all the opposing player's cards by reducing his life to 0 you will be the winner of the game, every card has a defense except the summoners.

The attack: the attack allows the cards to deal damage to each other, the ranged attack icon is distinguished by a shooting target, the melee as a spinning saw and the magic attacks as a cloud with lightning, if it does not have any of these icons the card has no attack and therefore cannot attack.

Shield: Some cards have a shield that can be seen above life, ranged and melee attacks must destroy the shield in order to later damage life, in this case defense would be the number of the shield plus life, this it does not apply to magic attacks that deal direct damage to life even if the card being attacked has a shield.

The mana: The number of mana is dictated by the rules of the game, the mana tells you how many cards you can include in your strategy including the summoner. It is situated on the top left corner of each card.

Summoner: Summoners are the cards that allow you to play cards of the same faction, the factions are divided into: fire, earth, water, life, death, neutral and dragon. Neutral cards can be used in any faction, if you use a dragon summoner you can select any faction to use including dragon type cards, for example your cards can be fire type, neutral and dragon type.

Leveling up: In splinterlands you can level up your cards by combining copies of the same card, in order to increase their stats and gain abilities, summoners who have level 2 and up will generally allow you to use level 2 or 3 cards. For example if the summoner is common rarity you can use level 2 or 3 common and rare splinters, it should also be mentioned that the league you are in limits the level that you can use either bronze or silver, as you go up in the ranking, you will be able to use much more powerful cards in the level aspect.

Mechanics: To be able to win easily you must choose a tank first, since the positions of the cards in splinterlands count a lot at least the first and second position, splinter creatures with a melee attack cannot attack from a distance, therefore the most common is that they are placed first in the queue (unless it has an ability, which indicates that they can attack in second or later position, or the rules of the game so dictate), on the other hand, ranged attacks cannot attack in the first position (unless it has a skill or the rules of the game allow it).

Ok good! but, is it profitable?

The answer is of course, I invested 25 usd at the beginning, after two weeks of my entry, more players arrived and therefore the main currency DEC increased in price, in addition to that I sold out a legendary card x6 times its price, without mentioning the DEC that I had already gathered for playing. So I recovered my initial investment and now everything is profit. Every profit requires an initial investment and splinterlands is no exception.

So how do I convert DEC to fiat?

In the following video she explains it, what it basically does is that in Hive-Engine it sells the DEC to HIVE, then it converts the HIVE to BTC, ETH, LTC, Dash or other crypto currencies that you can swap in any centralized exchange.

If you want to support me don't doubt to join through this link, it will be very appreciated.
