TEXT: John 1:1-5, Isaiah 58:11

God enacted a covenant with Abraham in the book of Gen 12:1-3. God directed Abraham to get out of his father’s land and without wasting time, he obeyed and followed the instruction. God made frantic efforts to redeem mankind but man used to frustrate the redemption agenda. God promised to guide us continually therefore; we need to forget other leading that is not of God.
This reminded me of a story of one of my friends who earn his living by selling wares. He made it known to me that he used to throw pebbles in the air for direction. Each time when he came to a certain intersection, he would toss pebbles and whichever way the pebbles pointed would be the way that a great sales would be recorded. Let God directs you and not pebbles. Let God directs you to a place where turnover is sure.

As the compass guides Pilot, likewise the word of God guides us as a believer. You need not to be at cross – road before asking for directions. You ought to have prayed to seek for God guidance over the matter. Don’t be like my friend who used to toss pebbles for direction but wholeheartedly rely on God to give you directions because a man without direction is miserable. But one thing about God is that he will not point you to a wrong direction. Pro. 14:12. God will not direct you to a wrong direction. Psalm 25:9. Therefore, keep trusting God even when God directed you against your choice. Please consider God direction to be the best way to follow.

God word is a perfect compass to direct the affairs of those who believed in him. In medical, there are two opinions but spiritual matters defies two opinions once God had spoken, such remains valid and everlasting. Psalm 62:11

Balaam sought for two opinions Numbers 22 -24. Balak offered him two opinions and God offered him just one. Satan offered two different opinions to Adam and Eve and they eventually yielded to Satan. God frankly told them, the very day you eat, you will die. Gen 2:17.

Mark Twain declares it’s not what I don’t understand about the Bible that bothers. Its what I do understand. Once the will of God had been made known through his revealed word, then no need of second opinion. Just accept, no argument. Every second opinion makes us to be a proud person and come to conclusion that God makes mistake. The encounter of the disobedient prophet. 1 Kings 13. Keep trusting, obeying and following God’s word. It is perfect, infallible, inerrant and without error.

Prayer Points

1.  Oh lord, release your word over the matter

2.  Oh lord, I pray to submit to submit to your word

3.  God word is a light to direct my life.

4.  God word is final.
