She was playing in the garden. Her dolls were all decked up for marriage. She had dressed them up with her old gilt shawls and pieces of silk torn from her dresses that she didn't wear anymore. Her mother had not objected and had even helped her sew dresses for the dolls.

The marriage ceremony was in full swing. She acted as a priest and brought the prince charming to the ground near the rose pot where she had kept her bride to be, all dressed in finery.

The rituals began and she tied the knot. The prince could now kiss the bride. She smiled shyly and then she felt someone touching her shoulder. She looked up to see a boy a bit older to her. She asked him who he was and he replied that he had come to 'see her' before their marriage. She got up and looked horrified. The boy looked sad and said it was their parents who decided and not him. He also liked to play and study and not marry. They looked at each other and walked towards the house, hand in hand.

The children approached the grandparents and parents and said boldly that they didn't want to marry at a young age but wanted to study and grow up. The grandparents started to chide them but the mothers spoke up and defended their children. The fathers agreed. The children were happy and rushed back to the garden to play. The dolls were forgotten. The boy went on to teach his new girlfriend a few Karate moves he had learned recently. There was laughter again.
