Pakistan defeated England by 5 runs in the third and final T20 International match of series to level the series at The Old Trafford, Manchester on Wednesday. Wahab Riaz was pick of the bowler for Pakistan as the Babar Azam led side defended 191 runs on a flat wicket. The 35-year old Wahab bowled superbly in penultimate over of the match and removed Moeen Ali, who was striking at 200. In the last over England needed 17 runs and Haris Rauf defended it. However, when 12 runs were needed off the last two balls, Tom Curran hit the second last ball of the match six and England was one hit away. But Rauf bowled a brilliant yorker to win the game for his team.
Earlier, Mohammad Hafeez hit unbeaten 86 runs as Pakistan set a target of 191 runs against England. Invited to bat first, Pakistan has a worst start as Moeen Ali castled Fakhar Zaman in the secon over of the match. Then debutant Haider Ali joined captain Babar Azam at the crease. Babar looked solid for his 21 before Tom Curran removed his stumps.
After that Mohammad Hafeez and Haider Ali stitched 100-run partnership for the third wicket, During thr course of 100-run stand Haider Ali became first Pakistani batsman to score half-century on debut in T20 Internationals before Jordan castled him for 54.
Earlier, England won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. Pakistan cricket team has made three changes in its playing 11 bringing in Wahab Riaz for the injured Mohammad Aamir. Haider Ali replaced Iftikhar Ahmed while in a surprise move Sarfaraz Ahmed takes the gloves from Mohammad Rizwan, who was brilliant in the Test and limited-overs series so far. Meanwhile,England has retained its winning conbination from the second T20 International.
