Deserts like the rest of the world to have an undeniable attraction; Lut plain is a desert plain in the southeast of Iran which has the hottest point of earth in it. This plain is located between parts of Kerman and South Khorasan provinces and has many scenic areas. In this report, I will introduce one of the scenic areas of Lut plain.
At a depth of 60 km, the central plain of Lut, you can see canyons that have been formed due to soil erosion and lack of vegetation. This canyon is divided into two branches, east and west, and for this reason, due to its resemblance to the tongue of snakes, it is known as the "snake tongue canyon".
Travel to the area where the "snake tongue canyon" is located, requires full familiarity with the area, having the appropriate equipment, having sufficient experience and obtaining permission to enter the area from the authorities of the Desert.
People who plan to travel to the "snake tongue" should know that the walls of the valley are slippy and there is a risk of falling rocks.
