The devil's town is one of the seven wonders of Serbia, and even its name frightens people. If you have seen the pictures of this area, you will surely notice that it is abnormal. The devil's town is very strange for two reasons. The first is for cylindrical and spindle-shaped mountains and the second is the rivers full of salts in this region.

According to scientists and geologists, these stone pillars are due to erosion caused by wind and water. But what you need to know is that in this area, there are 200 stone pillars that start from 2 meters and continue up to 15 meters. The width of these stone columns is from 50 cm to 3 meters. The strangest thing that has caused stories to be told about these stones is the caps that are placed at the top of these pillars.

These caps weigh several hundred kilograms and this is why geologists are always looking for reasons how a stone column with a width of 50 cm can hold hundreds of kilograms !! That is why the people of this region call that city Satan and they have different narrations. Some of these narrations have been expressed as follows:

1. In this city lived very kind and good-natured people away from any sin and pollution. That is why the devil wanted to mislead them in any way. That is why the devil conquered those people and built an evil church for himself there. However, the people left their lawful life and turned to the devil. At this time, the angels, who could not do anything, asked God to destroy them. And it came to pass that God sent a strong wind and storm there, and they all turned to stone.

2. In another narration, they believe that these stone pillars are the same as demons. In fact, people say that this city was turned to stone by God when it was persecuted by the devil. The story goes that when the people were persecuted, they all gathered in a church called St. Petka Church and prayed until morning and asked God to destroy the demons. When they woke up in the morning, seeing them all turned into stones.

3. Another legend of the devil's town, which has become popular among the people, is defined as follows: In a wedding party that Satan had a celebration between a brother and a sister, the guests were turned to stone to be a lesson for others. That none of the sins will go unanswered and there will surely be a punishment for them.

Another wonder of the devil's town is the existence of two streams whose mineral concentration is extremely high. According to scientists, the water of these springs can not be consumed at all, but the people of this city believe that this water cures many diseases due to its many minerals.

These two springs, each of which also has scary names (Hell and the Evil of Satan), have made people tell more stories about the devil's town and create legends for these rivers. However, the strangeness of these rivers cannot be denied. One of these rivers has turned red because its salts are too high. Scientifically, the oxidation of iron by reacting with water and moisture has caused red water in the spring.

On the other hand, the acidic properties of these waters are very high. So one of these rivers has a pH of 1.5, which is very high. In order to have a better idea of this number, it is better to know that the pH of sour lemon is 2. The higher the number, the more acidic it is. In addition to its hash, the minerals of the springs of the devil's town are 15 grams per liter. What you need to know about this amount is that the concentration of water in the devil's town (15 grams per liter) is ten thousand times that of drinking water!

According to a legend, the people of the devil's town went to this church to destroy the demons and pray. As we explained to you about one of the legends of this city, there was a church in this area where people go to pray, in fact, this church is the tradition of Petka, which belongs to the 13th century.

Many people in the area believe that this church is very effective in healing diseases. For this reason, they hang their scarves on it for a week, then bury it so that the diseases are buried with the scarf. The devil's town is located in the south of Serbia. On the mountain Radan, a short distance from the city of Corsumelia, the stone pillars of the devil's town can be seen. The best time to visit this area is summer and spring. In these seasons of the year, many tourists visit the devil's town. It is free to see these natural and at the same time wonderful works and you can see them within 3 hours.

The devil's town is one of the tourist areas of Serbia and you can also visit this region. This region is one of the seven wonders of Serbia. In fact, the existence of stone columns with a height of 15 meters and with a cap, has led people to storytelling and myth-telling of these works. The devil's town does not end only in stone pillars, and the presence of springs with water rich in salts and minerals and their high acidity, has made this area very amazing.
